Had a meaningful interaction with Smti. Vartika Rawat, IHC, Lagos, Nigeria, and Shri Nishi Kant Singh, DCM, Seoul, Republic of Korea, during their MCTP call-on.

The discussion drew upon my experience as Minister (Economic) at the Embassy of India, Washington, D.C., where I had the opportunity to work extensively on India–US economic and financial cooperation, investment facilitation, and engagement with multilateral financial institutions, including the World Bank and IMF. We exchanged views on the evolving global economic landscape and the growing importance of economic diplomacy in advancing India's development priorities.

We explored the immense potential of positioning Assam as India's gateway to Southeast and East Asia by strengthening international partnerships across strategic sectors. The conversation focused on opportunities in power and energy, semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, promotion of One District One Product (ODOP) initiatives, greater market access for Assam's GI-tagged products, and expanding trade and investment linkages with emerging global markets. We also discussed leveraging India's partnerships in Asia and beyond to integrate Assam more closely with regional and global value chains.

It was encouraging to receive their appreciation for Assam's well-executed Skill Development Mission, which is creating a future-ready workforce and reinforcing the State's competitiveness as an emerging investment destination. Such exchanges reaffirm the importance of collaborative governance and international engagement in accelerating Assam's economic transformation.

Pleased to deliver the keynote address at the Jeju Forum for Peace and Prosperity, 2026.

The world today is undergoing a complex rebalancing - economic, political and cultural. While economic interdependence, connectivity and a global workplace have brought it closer; leveraging of production, commerce and technology rivalry are creating new tensions.

Underlined the imperative of reinventing cooperation in a fragmented world through :

➡️ Strengthening resilience and redundancy for de-risking international economy and diversifying production and supply chains.

➡️ Forging new understanding and closer relationships to stabilise the global order and address issues through agenda - specific cooperation.

➡️ Collectively promoting international law and regimes.

➡️ Enhancing capacities and opportunities for the Global South to foster global growth.

➡️ Providing global goods through common and shared endeavours. This must be expressed in reformed multilateralism.

Wish the forum productive deliberations.

Our discussions followed upon the outcomes of recent visit of President @Jaemyung_Lee to India.

We reviewed our cooperation across political, shipbuilding, trade, investments, defence, technology, clean energy, culture and P2P domains. As well as opportunities in startups, fintech and multilateral fora.

Also exchanged views on development in our respective regions and around the world.

Republic of #Korea Minister of Interior and Safety, Mr Yun Hojung, currently on India visit, called on to discuss possible cooperation between the two nation in the fields of digital governance, E-government, public administration, capacity building, and citizen-centric service delivery.

Accompanied by high-level delegations from respective sides, bilateral talks held lasting over an hour.

India and Korea are both vibrant democracies with shared values, heritage and commitment to the rule of law.  They are not only two major Asian democracies, but also two major Asian economies that share a Special Strategic Partnership which is both historic and forward-looking

Significant to note that an important Joint Strategic Vision Statement was finalised when President Lee Jae Myung of the Republic of Korea visited India in April this year and met PM Sh @narendramodi.

Interestingly, both the countries are bound together by the historical ties of the 48 AD marital connection between Princess Suriratna of Ayodhya and King Suro of the then Gaya’s confederacy of Korea.

India has, in recent years, made laudable strides in digital governance, public service delivery, and grievance redressal mechanisms. There is much to learn from each other and much to share.

Sunset Yoga, Namaste Hangang!
Ahead of the International Day of Yoga, the Embassy, in partnership with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, Future Hangang Headquarters, and Viveka Yoga, conducted four Yoga sessions at the Car-Free Jamsugyo Bridge Festival on June 14, 2026.
As the sun set over the Hangang, people from all walks of life came together to celebrate the gift of Yoga, reaffirming its power to transcend borders and cultures and bring humanity together in the shared pursuit of well-being and prosperity.

세계 요가의 날을 앞두고, 주한인도대사관은 서울특별시, 미래한강본부, 비베카 요가와 함께 2026년 6월 14일 열린 차 없는 잠수교 뚜벅뚜벅 축제에서 네 차례의 요가 세션을 진행했습니다.
노을이 한강을 물들이는 아름다운 저녁, 다양한 배경을 가진 시민들이 한자리에 모여 요가의 가치를 함께 나누었습니다. 이번 행사는 요가가 국경과 문화를 넘어 사람과 사람을 연결하고, 건강과 행복, 그리고 조화로운 삶을 향한 여정 속에서 우리를 하나로 이어주는 힘을 지니고 있음을 다시 한번 확인하는 뜻깊은 시간이었습니다.

Embassy today welcomed Ms. S. Keerthana, Hon'ble Minister for Industries, Government of Tamil Nadu, during the Minister's official visit to RoK.

Discussions focussed on ways to enhance cooperation between RoK and Tamil Nadu in diverse areas, including trade and investment, infrastructure, connectivity, culture, and diaspora related matters.

The Embassy, in collaboration with the India Busan Centre at BUFS, organised an International Day of Yoga event in Jeju yesterday under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.”

Undeterred by a light drizzle, yoga enthusiasts came together in remarkable spirit, reaffirming Yoga’s enduring role in nurturing holistic well-being across all ages.

The gathering celebrated the timeless wisdom of yoga as a pathway to healthier and more balanced lives, building momentum towards the International Day of Yoga 2026 and its message of wellness for all.

주한인도대사관은 부산외국어대학교 인디아센터와 협력하여 어제 제주에서 “건강하게 나이 드는 삶, 요가와 함께 (Yoga for Healthy Ageing)”를 주제로 세계 요가의 날 행사를 개최했습니다.

가벼운 비 속에서도 요가 애호가들이 뜨거운 열정으로 한자리에 모여, 모든 연령대의 전인적(holistic) 웰빙을 도모하는 요가의 지속적인 역할을 다시 한번 확인했습니다.

To give speed to India-RoK VOYAGES launched in April, a composite Indian delegation visited ROK this week, interacting with Korean shipyard and shipping companies. They also attended a workshop by KOICA to pay the foundation for a large pool of skilled shipbuilding workforce in India.

지난 4월 출범한 한-인도 조선 협력 이니셔티브 ‘VOYAGES’의 추진에 속도를 더하기 위해, 인도 정부 및 산업계로 구성된 대표단이 이번 주 대한민국을 방문하여 한국의 조선소 및 해운 기업들과 교류를 가졌습니다. 대표단은 또한 KOICA가 주최한 워크숍에 참석하여, 인도 내 대규모 숙련 조선 인력 양성을 위한 기반 조성 방안에 대해 논의하였습니다.
