We were in 300L when Owolabi buried his dad. We all went for the burial, and being the 3rd born and the only male child, he was everywhere making arrangements from the morgue to church to reception and all that. At the cemetery, when family and friends were crying, Owolabi wasn't crying. I did not see a drop of water come out of his eyes.

When we got to the reception venue, those who were crying at the cemetery not up to 30 minutes ago have started asking for the type of food they want from the servers. Musician have started singing praise of some guests, and people are already in the party mood.

We friends need to settle those who followed us from Ado so we need Owolabi to help us talk to one of his sisters who will give us and other friends food and drinks but we couldn't find him. We checked everywhere and couldn't find him.

We asked one of the Man O war guys at the venue if they see Owolabi and one of them said he saw him walking outside the venue and pointed to where he passed through. We thought maybe he wanted to get something in one of the cars parked outside so we waited a little bit, but 10 minutes later, he was nowhere to be found. Two of his sisters have started looking for him, and they came to meet us outside. Then Ekene said, "Ope, let's trace this guy back to the cemetery." It was an awkward suggestion, but at that point, I had no other option myself, so we drove down to the cemetery.

By the time we got there, Owolabi was drenched in tears. His eyes were red and heavy. This guy sat at the tomb and was crying! Someone who has been strong since the man died. He will make jokes out of the death of his dad, we will make jest of him until the day of the burial, but he went back after we all have left the cemetery to cry!

That day, I learned that people can't cheat emotions or hide it.

@BOTAD01 @MalachyOdo1 I lost my eldest sister on the 30/04/2024 to Cancer. You know the feeling where you see your sister, mentor and closest sibling being taken away gradually and you can do nothing? She was buried last week I cried and still crying till today. It really hurts that I couldn’t help.
