Discussions are currently taking place in Machakos, Nairobi, where IGAD Gender focal points are exploring strategies to leverage IGAD’s customised tools to advance Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment (#GEWE). Participants have now moved into focused group discussions to deliberate on effective ways to measure key gender issues using IGAD’s monitoring systems. They are also brainstorming incentive mechanisms to recognise best practices and address non-compliance in gender equality efforts.
Across Africa, youth-led startups are using blockchain to secure land titles and prevent fraud. This digital transformation is empowering a new generation of landowners and farmers, driving sustainable rural development.
