Como ya dijo VALVe en una entrevista, aunque quieran no pueden vender las Steam Machines a pérdidas como hacen comúnmente Sony o Nintendo con sus consolas.
El problema es que la Steam Machine es un PC de verdad, no una consola.
Si la pusieran muy barata, con la crisis actual las empresas las comprarían al por mayor para usarlas como ordenadores de oficina o trabajo, no para el gaming.
Aunque VALVe tenga dinero, no tiene sentido asumir esa pérdida cuando no hay ninguna garantía de recuperarla vendiendo software.
No envidio nada a los que tienen que gestionar esto en VALVe.

Garry Newman shared that Facepunch finalised the licence agreement with Valve to release projects created on Source2 using S&Box as separate games on Steam, completely royalty-free. The first of these may be "My Summer Cottage", created by Small Fish.

I've recently started practicing with #hammer for #source2 using hlvr (Half-Life: Alyx) workshop tools, I really like this engine and I hope it's gonna be improved even more in the future with newer #Valve games
