Every morning after a massive Russian attack, I dread sitting down to put a post like the one below together. Russia brings so much pain and suffering to Ukrainians.
Russian combined attack on Ukraine killed 13 people and injured over 100 more. The most severe damage to civilian infrastructure occurred in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.
▪️ In Kyiv, 4 people were killed and over 60 more were injured. A three-year-old child was wounded by shrapnel.
Five medical facilities were damaged in Kyiv.
The ZEEKR car dealership burned down completely.
Other damaged sites include residential buildings, a utility company, an academy, outbuildings, a gas station, and a Ministry of Internal Affairs service center - all civilian infrastructure.
▪️ In Dnipro, 9 people were killed, a child among them. Multiple apartment buildings were destroyed.
Deputy chief of the fire and rescue unit, Major Anton Yarmolenko, was killed by the Russian attack. He was heading to an emergency call when the Russian strike occurred. Deepest condolences.
35 more residents of Dnipro were injured, and 6 more people are missing.
▪️ In Kharkiv, residential buildings and a food production facility were damaged, with more than 10 people injured.
Destruction of civilian infrastructure was recorded in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. In Kyiv region, residential houses, a postal terminal, and vehicles caught fire.

More than 500 personnel of the State Emergency Service have been involved in dealing with the aftermath of Russia’s overnight attack on our cities and communities. The main strike was on Kyiv, where dozens of residential buildings and other purely civilian infrastructure were damaged again. Tragically, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. At this moment, 38 people are in hospitals in the capital, and all of them are receiving the necessary care.
In Dnipro, a search and rescue operation is ongoing at the site of a four-story apartment building. Part of the building was essentially demolished. Nine people were killed in this attack, including a child. Thirty-five people were injured in the city. The fate of six more people remains unknown. The search for them will continue for as long as necessary.
The Russians also struck energy facilities in the Kharkiv region and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv. Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions also came under attack.
In total, overnight Russia launched 656 attack drones and 73 missiles of various types at our people – ballistic, cruise, and anti-ship missiles. A large-scale attack and an absolutely clear statement from Russia: if Ukraine is not protected from ballistic and other missile strikes, these attacks will continue. Europe needs its own anti-ballistic defense so that this war can finally be brought to an end. And assistance from the United States in supplying missiles for Patriot systems is absolutely necessary. We are counting on the support of our partners and on effective responses to today’s attack.
And I thank all Ukrainian men and women for not ignoring air raid alerts.
Glory to Ukraine!
Yesterday, the Russians destroyed a warehouse of the UN World Food Programme in Dnipro with an Iskander ballistic missile
The WFP reported that humanitarian aid for the residents of frontline territories was stored in the warehouse — the supplies would have been enough to support 130,000 people.
The cost of the destroyed food is estimated at $1.4 million.
Never mind, the UN will express concern and will once again chicken out of kicking Russia out. It will tolerate it.
The images from Kyiv and across 🇺🇦 after Russia’s criminal attack last night are devastating.
We cannot accept a reality in which cities in a neighboring country are shelled again and again, homes are destroyed, and people are killed in their own apartments.
Every such strike is further proof that the aggressor will not stop on its own. It can only be stopped through the unity and determination of the international community.
This is not a war in the ordinary sense — it is systematic criminal terror against civilians.
And this terror is supported by the Lukashenka regime, which provides Russian forces with our territory and hosts Russian weapons there, including Oreshnik missiles.
But Belarusians continue to support Ukraine fully. We will always stand with people defending their homes, their families, and their freedom. We know what it means to live next to an aggressor that respects neither borders nor human life.
We admire the courage of Ukrainians. The way you endure after every strike. The way rescuers and medics work under shelling. The way ordinary people help one another, no matter what. This is a strength that missiles cannot destroy.
We stand in solidarity with you and believe in your victory. Glory to Ukraine!
Russia hit a dead-end on the battlefield, so it terrorizes Ukraine with deliberate strikes on city centres.
These are abhorrent acts of terror meant to kill as many civilians as possible.
Moscow reportedly using Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles – systems designed to carry nuclear warheads – is a political scare-tactic and reckless nuclear-brinkmanship.
Next week, EU Foreign Ministers will discuss how to dial up the international pressure on Russia.
A reminder that Russia is waging a terrorist war on Ukraine, and a reminder that standing by and watching are the richest nations on Earth, controlling the most powerful military alliance in history, an alliance created specifically to stop Russia in Europe. Sickening.
Massive Russian attacks against Ukraine.
Exclusively civilian targets and infrastructure were attacked—something Russia will, as always, deny.
The ceiling at the Lukyanivska metro station has collapsed; those seeking shelter can barely breathe.
The market in Lukyanivka is on fire as a result of the Russian attack.
In Poland, air defenses have been placed on high alert, and NATO fighter jets have scrambled—not to help, but merely to take a few photos for the family album.
Death, destruction, suffering. For over four years, Europe has done nothing but watch.
Now is the time for our partners to transform solidarity with Ukraine into action.
We are grateful for your warning of a massive strike. And we understand your warnings to your citizens.
But the key warning must be heard not in Kyiv and not by foreigners. It must be a warning heard in Moscow by the Russian regime.
You have the leverage. Use it now. Warn Moscow of the cost it will have to pay. Both publicly and through closed channels.
Concerns and condolences are not enough. We need concrete action increasing the cost of war for the aggressor already now.
This will be the best way to express solidarity with the Ukrainian people.
There's an air raid alert in Kyiv.
That's the second one tonight and the fourth one today.
The President, the United States embassy and monitoring channels are warning that a massive Russian attack is probable tonight.
Usually, that means hundreds of drones, dozens of missiles (ballistic, cruise missiles, Tsirkons etc). That's a sleepless night for millions of people when our homes shake from explosions, and then, in the morning, those who were lucky to survive, wake up to the news of destruction, deaths, suffering.
These attacks even make it to global media. But they don't get a lot of attention anymore.
We've also grown used to the fact that any night might be a hellish one for us.
Yet, we cannot allow to normalize that Russia kills civilians and kids in Ukraine every single day.
Russia has daily human safaris in Ukraine.
They've gone made a long time ago. Russia must be stopped.
It certainly cannot be called a coincidence that one of the longest massive Russian attacks against Ukraine takes place precisely at the time when the President of the United States arrived for a visit to China – a visit from which much is expected. In this difficult geopolitical moment, Russia is clearly trying to disrupt the overall political atmosphere and draw attention to its evil – seeking to do so at the expense of Ukrainian lives and Ukrainian infrastructure.
Throughout the entire day today, the Russians have been launching waves of “shaheds” against our regions – and, in particular, deliberately targeting regions closest to the borders of NATO countries. Hits have already been recorded in Zakarpattia, Lviv region, Volyn, as well as in Ivano-Frankivsk and Rivne regions. Unfortunately, there are also hits in many of our other regions – Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipro, Kirovohrad, Zaporizhzhia, Zhytomyr, Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kharkiv, and Kherson regions. As of now, dozens of people are reported injured, including children. Sadly, six people have been killed. My condolences to their families and loved ones. Since midnight, at least 800 Russian drones have already been launched, and the attack is ongoing, with additional drones entering our country’s airspace.
According to our intelligence, after all the waves of drones, missile launches against Ukraine are also entirely possible. Our warriors are defending Ukraine, but Russia’s obvious aim is to overload air defense systems and inflict as much grief and pain as possible specifically during these days. It is important that the world does not remain silent about this. It is important that Russia’s true intentions are made clear to leaders and countries. It is important to apply real pressure on the Russian aggressor so that this terror is brought to an end. All services are currently engaged in dealing with the consequences of the strikes. Please pay attention to air-raid alerts. I am grateful to every partner who stands with Ukraine!
@maria_drutska They are fucking panicking lol. Maybe Ukraine should attack the parade, the embarrassment of having to run to his bunker in the middle of his big parade might end Putin right there.
"How could they have screwed everything up this badly? It’s hard to comprehend."
Russian "Z-blogger" Ilya Remeslo sharply criticizes Putin and Russian authorities in these "ceasefire chronicles":
"As usual, gloomy news ahead of Victory Day. The 'ceasefire' chronicles are as follows.
Ukrainian drones carried out hundreds of strikes across Russia. Perm again, Yaroslavl, and other cities with oil refineries.
Also, after a drone hit an air navigation administration building, operations at 13 airports in southern Russia were suspended.
Clearly, the opponent feels not the slightest fear - or even respect - for the ominous threats coming from the foreign ministry and defense ministry. Western embassies remain in Kyiv.
Nobody negotiates with people who are incapable of keeping their promises.
Earlier, when the situation at the front was better, there was a real window of opportunity for a deal. Everyone was running around Putin - Trump, Erdoğan, various European countries - while Zelenskyy was being publicly humiliated and pressured into negotiations.
Remember Trump at that scandalous White House meeting telling Zelenskyy, 'You have no cards'? How happy we were then, thinking our great geopolitical strategist would quickly secure a favorable peace deal?
Well, that time is gone forever. The longer the war continues, the harsher the conditions imposed on us will become - while destruction inside Russia keeps growing.
How could they have screwed everything up this badly? It’s beyond comprehension. I do not know another example in history where a ruler makes catastrophic military mistakes at the beginning, then receives completely undeserved opportunities for victory - and still manages to throw it all away.
Well, he wanted to end up in history books. And now he definitely will."
