Prediction: Massive touchscreens are 1-2 years away from peaking. Pretty soon, we'll shift to screen-less interiors with actually good voice AI controls and AR windshields.
Got off the phone with a dealer who uses us to find arbitrage for Bring a Trailer. Getting him onboarded to our OS to automate the acquisition and DD. Gonna get him into the top 20 of BaT volume soon
@signulll is it anthropic powerful enough to move markets or is it market so unsure that it can easily be moved by anthropic and fictional doom pieces?
finding myself using twitter/x more and more for stuff id normally search on reddit. if only search wasn't a hot pile of garbage. can't even find a popular thread i just saw even when i type in exact keywords - instead seeing <1000 view posts from weeks ago
- Agree in theory that AI apps make it so that marketplace competitors compete on fewer axes
- Disagree in practice that AI companies will be able to disrupt incumbent marketplaces with demand auctions
This reminds me of how everyone thought bookings, expedia, tripadvisor, etc. were doomed after Google, the demand aggregator up to now, integrated flight and hotel bookings directly into its platform
You can argue that AI companies can integrate into various commerce categories much faster than before, but by that same token, incumbent marketplaces can use AI to differentiate their offerings even more - via rewards programs, order fulfillment efficiency, refund policies, and other stuff that everyone else is saying
I think an AI agent operating on behalf of a consumer has to consider these factors in the cost equation, so it's less straightforward than "demand auction (essentially DTC) = lowest absolute order cost = I choose this"
@CrazyWeeMonkey teslas and any ev-native platform always punch above their weight interior wise. the a5 is bigger on the outside, and the rs even more so
$68k msrp mercedes eqb depreciating 64% after 4 years and 39k miles is brutal. If you're in the market for a dirt-cheap 3-row(!) SUV and can charge at home (only 250mi range), this is the biggest no-brainer out there
