🇮🇱 A new Channel 14 report shows senior Israeli government and military officials openly celebrating the destruction of Gaza, the mass killing of Palestinians, their forced displacement to the coast, and Israel’s permanent occupation of the territory.
One senior officer described all 70,000 Palestinians he said Israel had killed as “terrorists.” The full video is linked below. Here are some of the remarks:
🔹 Defense Minister Israel Katz: “The important thing: those neighborhoods like Jabaliya, Shuja’iyya, which we only controlled a part of - are destroyed. In ruins.”
Interviewer: “When you see Gaza destroyed like this, how do you feel?”
Katz: “What do I feel? Feel good. What, this is all the result of a deliberate policy that [was designed] to remove threats. Instead of the method of raids - enter, exit, and Hamas returns - the IDF is inside, the residents are outside, and the houses are destroyed.”
Katz: “We are not retreating from the yellow line, unequivocally, as long as Hamas does not truly disarm. And even after that, we will remain in Gaza!”
🔹 Major General Tamir Yadai, deputy chief of staff of the Israeli military: “I don’t know how to describe this [situation] other than victory. When you control 65% of the territory [of the Gaza Strip], when 70,000 terrorists have been killed here, when the majority of the population is in the beach since… for a second summer there already, when the IDF is inside The Strip with a different [scale of deployment] than before, when there’s a full freedom of operation.”
🔹 Major General Yaniv Assor, commander of the Israeli military’s southern command: “Over the last period, [since Operation Lion’s Roar], there have been 300 [targeted assassinations] in The Strip.”
@fred_guttenberg@RoKhanna Brother, we bombed a school full of children in Iran on behalf of Israel. And you're okay with this? Maybe instead of changing parties, you should change your sources for news.
💢 Breaking: The ICE agent who shot and killed 26-year-old Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero in Biddeford, Maine, on Monday has been identified as David Michael Brouillette, 37, a former Maine law enforcement officer and Army veteran, the Portland Press Herald reported.
Brouillette was first identified Wednesday by ICE List, a public database of ICE officers run from the Netherlands, which cited two people who knew him personally. His ex-wife confirmed it the next day.
His ex-wife, Ashley Brouillette, said he called admitting to the shooting and asking her to “lie for him.” She said she reviewed footage of the scene and disputed his account, saying “nowhere in there does it show that this man charged at you with a car.”
Ashley Brouillette also said that her ex-husband was abusive during their relationship and that she had previously reported concerns about his mental health to his military superiors. DHS has refused to identify him.
