I watched with disappointment the recent interview granted by Senator Ali Modu Sheriff to Channels Television on Monday.
After a prolonged absence from public discourse, one would have expected that time away might have sharpened Senator Sheriff’s judgment. Regrettably, that does not appear to be the case.
In the interview, the former governor claimed that Peter Obi cannot command sizeable support in Northern Nigeria. It is curious that he has appointed himself spokesperson for the Northern masses. For the record, in his first outing on the presidential ballot, Mr. Obi secured approximately 2.8 million votes in the region — a remarkable achievement that cannot be dismissed lightly.
Given the current national hardships, the widespread consensus on the failure of the APC administration, and the addition of a strong Northern figure to the ticket who previously garnered 1.45 million votes in the region, the OK ticket remains a formidable force in Northern politics.
Even more surprising was Senator Sheriff’s assertion that the people of Kano would not vote for Mr. Obi. Let me state clearly: the good people of Kano are neither bigoted nor xenophobic. They have consistently demonstrated strong trust in the Kwankwasiyya movement and will support any credible ticket presented under its banner.
I respectfully advise Senator Sheriff that, in future national television appearances, he would do better to speak to the serious insecurity and humanitarian challenges facing his home state, rather than making divisive and poorly considered remarks.
The OK ticket currently represents the best opportunity for Nigerians to reset the country and place it on a path of competence, unity, and progress. - RMK
It seems FUTO can't be in the news for any good reason these days.
What exactly is the matter with the staff in that school right now?
The level of incompetence and impunity is alarming!
Alausa queries FUTO VC over ‘irregular appointment’ of 24 aides
Tunji Alausa, minister of education, has queried Ikechukwu Dozie, vice-chancellor of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) in Imo state, over the alleged irregular appointment of 24 aides in his office.
In a memo dated June 25, 2026, and signed by Kareem O.L, acting director of university education at the federal ministry of education on behalf of the minister, Alausa faulted the appointments and directed the vice-chancellor to reverse them “forthwith” and provide evidence of compliance without delay.

If Nigeria were split into 6 regions today, I bet you, the South-West wouldn't elect Tinubu and the North-East wouldn't elect Atiku.
Yet today, those same people are willing to elect a bad leader simply because he's their tribesman.
¿Roy Keane?
Interestingly, Mr. Peter Obi didn't start the Obidient Movement or had any need to.
True integrity needs no marketing. It's obvious, endearing and has a life of its own.
Enough said to movement starters.
Dear Valentine Ozigbo,
I love your sagacity and your strong conviction to what you believe in, that's admirable.
I learnt you floated a new political movement called "The Valiant Movement-TVM), brilliant idea ...
The Obidient and Kwankwasiya movement has been the only strong, solid and organic group politically making waves , asking and demanding good governance of recent.
I saw Dr Segun Sowunmi recently tried to come up with what he called "The Alternative " but from afar I can say it didn't meet up with the expectations hence did died a natural death.
Now, you are here, I hope you will push for something better, different without chasing the usual clout of attacking Obidients as if they are the problem..
From the faces I saw in the video I watched, that looks like a gathering of disgruntled ex Obidients whose daily job is to throw jabs at Peter Obi and his supporters
Political movement is good if rooted in the rightful idealogy.
You do not need attack dogs..🎯
End......🎯🎯
@turningpointjpn Netherlands may be a football powerhouse but they should have been worried when Japan, the electronic powerhouse decided to go analog.
20,000 youths from Edo state can comb and clear the entire forests in Edo state of kidnappers, bandits and terrorists in just 7 days.
It will be a voluntary call to service to reclaim back their state and rid it off banditry, kidnappers and terrorists, and the exercise will last only 7 days.
They will be deployed in 8 groups of 500 volunteers each, into different directions to comb the entire forest of Edo state, and will remain in the forest for 7 days. The state government will handle their feeding and water for 7 days.
The result will be massive, because they will discover so many things.
After the 7 days exercise, every community will set up local vigilante to monitor activities around their community, expecially communities closer to those forests. They must report to the authorities immediately they observe any strange movement.
Communities where kidnappers return to after the 7 days clearance, their chief, CDC chairman, including the LGA chairman will be suspended by the Governor.
This will work and Edo state will return to her past glory.
Please Note, this exercise is totally voluntary.
Retweet until the people and government of Edo state sees this.
Good news: Dr. Iheukwumere Ikechukwu of the Department of Microbiology at COOU has been sacked by the Governing Council of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
He sexually abused students and engaged in different forms of misconduct.
Four other academic staff members were also sacked, including two professors.
We are restoring integrity in our universities, which will in turn improve the quality of our graduates.
I used to defend Senator Dickson before now that the only reason he likes all the NDC activities to happen in his house and to be practically involved is because he doesn't want an infiltration into the party by either the ruling party or co-opposition.
But with Dickson's recent moves, I think I understand the man better.
I now think the actual reason Dickson registered NDC is because he wants to remain in the business of politics as a Sole Administrator through NDC and nothing more.
The Obi and Kwankwaso defection to the party was just an afterthought to give the party a wider reach and greater visibility.
But now, Dickson has started to reason that if he allows a free flow of the movement, it may eventually swallow his grip on the structure.
Dickson would not want a wave of the movement to overshadow its original intention of remaining in political business through NDC.
That is why he is making his position very clear.
But I understand him.
A man who opens a business would naturally want to make profit from it before going on to do charity with it.
The only thing I expected from Dickson was the ability to understand that Nigeria is presently at a crossroads where every political party discussion should revolve around how to improve governance and return Nigeria to her pride of place and glory where she truly belongs.
I expected him to know that no price is too big to pay for anyone who genuinely claims to be fighting for a better Nigeria at the moment.
But I also understand that a businessman will remain a businessman, no matter what is at stake.
That is why my only advice to Obidients is to focus on the bigger picture.
If you go to buy a commodity from a business owner, your primary concern should be how to get that commodity and deliver it home safely. You should have very little concern about how much profit the business owner makes from each commodity.
Peter Obi is the commodity of the Obidients, and what matters most is how to deliver him to the expected destination. Every other thing is a distraction.

@BwalaDaniel@PeterObi Weren't you the chap that did that interview with Mehdi on Al Jazeera?
Why am I not surprised reading this on your timeline?
