Together with the Deputy Director for Mobilization of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), Hon. Henry Basaliza, we are heading to Adjumani District for Gen. MKMās endorsement rally, scheduled to take place today at Leisure Park in Adjumani.
Hon. Basaliza will represent our able General Secretary, Hon. Twalla Fadil, who is currently engaged in other PLU activities.
We look forward to a successful rally as we continue strengthening our grassroots mobilization and rallying support for Gen. MKM.
This afternoon in my communication to the House, I welcomed Members and reported on our recent Inter-Parliamentary Union engagements in Arusha, Tanzania.
Our hosts received us warmly in the true East African spirit. I congratulated Hon. @EvelyneNinsiim1 on her appointment to the IPU High-Level Advisory Group on Countering Terrorism and Violent Extremism, and Hon. Juliet Achayo Lodou on her appointment to the Committee on Peace and International Security.
Our participation also included the EAC Speakersā Bureau meeting, where we discussed preparations for the December EAC Parliamentary Games. Uganda has a strong sporting reputation, and I urged our teams to prepare well.ā
The House then adopted the report of the Committee on Tourism, Trade and Industry, presented by MP Patrick Aeku, on human-wildlife conflicts.
Key recommendations include a dedicated ring-fenced HWC Mitigation and Compensation Fund, increased budgets and equipment for the HWC Division including phased electric fencing, a national digital management system within 12 months, an inter-ministerial coordination committee, integration of HWC into land-use plans, stronger community participation, and accelerated review of the Wildlife Act. Prevention must come first, with fair and timely compensation as a safety net.ā
After a spirited debate, the report was adopted. I thank the 49 Members who contributedātime was limitedāand the Committee leadership and members. The 12th Parliament has a distinctive breed of committees producing unique work.
The Quality Healthcare and Patient Safety Bill, a Private Memberās Bill by Hon. Bukenya Michael Iga (Bukuya County), was also tabled and the member granted for leave of parliament to present it.
Patient safety and quality healthcare remain central to our people-centred legislation.
This afternoon I have had a meeting with members of the Makerere University Convocation at the PLU Secretariat.
They also picked books for Endorsement of Gen @mkainerugaba for Presidency 2031.
Thank you Ndugu Hon @HonWitonze for always finding time to visit us at the PLU Secretariat.
We sincerely appreciate your continued support, commitment and love for Gen @mkainerugaba and PLU. We are equally grateful for your endorsement of our Generational Leader, which reflects your commitment to the cause.
š£ļøFrance legend Olivier Giroud on why he left #Arsenal ahead of returning to The Emirates with Lille tonight: āIt was part of my career and my time. I had to leave the club in order to play the 2018 World Cup and we know the end of the story.
"I was really sad to leave the club but I had to make that choice and that was a tough one in my career but it was necessary and important for the rest of my career. It's great to come back at 40 years old with a French club and play against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal."
I have today, officially endorsed Gen @mkainerugaba as the next President of the Republic of Uganda at the Secretariat of the Patriotic League of Uganda.
I was received by the General Secretary of the Patriotic League of Uganda, Rt Hon @HonTwallafadil
š£ļøSteven Gerrard on who he thinks will win this seasonās Premier League: āBefore a ball was kicked, I fancied Arsenal to just carry on, but now, what are we, six, seven games inā¦Iād put my money on Manchester City, having seen what Iāve seen yesterday. Iād put my money on City. Theyāre just so strong, and then you see the bench.ā
š 100% agree this City side look very good, but after last season you know that this #Arsenal side have what it takes to go all the way. I canāt wait to see how it unfolds ā²ļø

šØArsene Wenger is expected to stand AGAINST Gianni Infantino for FIFA Presidency.
Arsene Wengerās nomination would need to be submitted by the 18th November deadline.
š£ļøMikel Merinoās father Miguel silences any rumours that his son wanted a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid: āWell, look, itās not just about Real Madrid. Heās at #Arsenal and has won the Premier League, has reached the Champions League final, he got to the Champions League semi-finals last year. Heās part of a world-class squad, so heās a world-class player.
āWell, right now, heās at a club that is competingĀ for everything. Thatās what he wanted when he left Real Sociedad. Mikel left with a heavy heart. He wanted to take a step up in his ambitions as a footballer, to be a regular in the Champions League and try to win the Premier League, which heās already achieved. He left Real Sociedad because he wanted to advance his career as a footballer and now heās at a top club.
āIf he comes back to La Liga, well, I suppose heāll want to continue in that rhythm of competing in the Champions League and keeping thatĀ motivation, but obviously heās in a comfortable situation there at Arsenal, isnāt he? Because heās experiencing exactly what he wanted when he left Real Sociedad.ā
š£ļøJamie Carragher thinks this seasonās Premier League is already a two horse race between #Arsenal and Man City: āWe need a resolution as soon as possible because weāre watching a game and not sure what it actually means going forward and wondering if it even makes any difference to Man City or the title race with Arsenal.
āArsenal and Man City are the two best teams by a mile, we know that, and no one else is really going to compete with them for the title. We want every game to matter but right now it doesnāt.ā
