Jupiter Announcement: 50% Buyback and 50% Ecosystem Usage of Fees

I conducted a simple analysis of @JupiterExchange 's buyback size and its appropriate FDV:

1. Jupiter’s Volume is Surging
Thanks to the meme coin craze on Solana, Jupiter has hit its all-time high daily and weekly volumes. This week alone, Jupiter recorded approximately $67B in trading volume.

2. Jupiter’s Fee Structure
Jupiter does not charge any fees for swaps. However, the platform imposes a 0.2% fee on Limit Orders.
• If a partner integrates Jupiter’s limit order functionality, the partner takes 0.1% as a referral fee, and Jupiter keeps 0.1%.
• Additionally, Jupiter charges a 0.1% fee for its DCA (Dollar-Cost Averaging) feature.

3. How Much Revenue Does Jupiter Generate?
According to Dune Analytics: https://t.co/WQdzjkoMo6, Jupiter generated around $20M in fees this week alone. Assuming Solana’s trading volume remains consistent, this would result in approximately $1.042B in annual revenue.

4. 50% Buyback Allocation
With 50% of fees allocated to buybacks, about $520M would be used for buybacks annually.
• Jupiter’s FDV (Fully Diluted Valuation) is currently $11.49B, and the circulating market cap is $2.02B.
• Does this make JUP seem undervalued or overvalued at the current price?

5. Comparison with @HyperliquidX
As an example, consider Hyperliquid (HL):
• Hyperliquid’s weekly revenue is around $14M, and 54% of its revenue is used for $HYPE buybacks and burns.
• However, HL’s FDV stands at $23.4B, and its circulating market cap is $7.81B.
• Compared to Jupiter, HL’s FDV is 2x higher, and its circulating market cap is 4x larger.
• Based on this week’s numbers, Jupiter’s buyback amount is approximately 1.25x higher than Hyperliquid’s, yet Jupiter’s FDV is 2x lower.
• If Jupiter’s FDV aligns with Hyperliquid’s buyback-to-FDV ratio, Jupiter’s FDV could grow by approximately 2.5x.

6. Unlock Schedule – A Key Risk Factor for Investors
Investors should note Jupiter’s upcoming token unlock schedule. According to @DefiLlama : https://t.co/3S0uudSs2H, token unlocks for the team and stakeholders will begin in about 5 days. Please review the unlock schedule for further details

Lastly, the most critical point is that this week marked an all-time high for Solana’s trading volume. The projections above are subject to change depending on the rise or fall of Solana DEX trading volumes.

The MEGAETH team is based in New York and is like an Avengers team composed of talent from MIT, Harvard, and Stanford:

1. Yilong Li (CEO): Earned his PhD from Stanford, specializing in low-latency data center computing.
2. Lei Yang (CTO): Spent 6 years researching Consensys at MIT and recently co-authored the paper "Revisiting the World Computer" with feedback from Vitalik and EigenLayer's Sreeram Kannan.
3. Brother Bing (Shuyao Kong, CBO): A Harvard graduate, she helped develop MetaMask and serves as an advisor to Consensys.

Philosophy and Technology
• Their approach begins with "measuring first, then building" to identify any bottlenecks that arise in delivering ultra-low latency and high TPS.
• They analyze key bottlenecks, such as the time-intensive processes of specific system and host opcodes, MPT root state sync, and more, then design solutions to address these simultaneously.
• This reflects a principle-driven R&D process focused on in-depth performance analysis and engineering efforts to achieve a high-performance blockchain.

The World Computer: MEGAETH
• MegaETH is building a real-time blockchain that blurs the boundaries between Web2 servers and blockchains.
• Their approach has similarities with Abstract’s consumer chain, focusing on building blockchains for users. I believe that MegaETH will become a chain within the Ethereum ecosystem that can rival Solana.
