Today, during the parliamentary session, I raised concerns about the recent power outages in Masalani and Ijara wards of Ijara constituency which sometimes last up to thirty (30) days. These power outages have plunged the areas into darkness causing substantial losses to the business community particularly affecting milk vendors, barbers, fruit vendors and butcheries. Additionally, hospitals and learning institutions have been severely disrupted.

It’s against this ,I demanded action from the Departmental Committee on Energy seeking answers and concrete solutions on the following:

1. Immediate measures by the government to ensure reliable electricity access for the residents of Masalani and Ijara towns.

2. Plans for government compensation to assist affected businesses particularly those dealing with perishable goods, such as milk vendors, barbers, fruit vendors and butcheries who have suffered substantial losses.

3. Installation of a power station in Masalani and Ijara wards to provide stable and reliable electricity connectivity considering the current unreliable connection from Hola, Tana River County.

I urge for a swift and concrete actions to be taken to address these pressing issues and alleviate the hardships faced by my constituents.

Following the forceful disappearance of two of my constituents, Mr.Jabril Abdullahi Farah (ID: 35162780) and Haret Ali Khalif (ID: 22934104), allegedly abducted by the security apparatus, I urgently sought a statement from the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security to:

1. Confirm the whereabouts of Mr. Jabril and Mr. Haret.

2. Ensure they are either arraigned in court if found guilty or released to reunite with their mourning families.

3. ⁠Demand an explanation as to why extrajudicial killings persist under the current administration.

My heartfelt prayers are with the families of the abducted young individuals, and I implore swift action for their safe return.

To address the acute shortage of teachers in Ijara, I have allocated annual fee of Ksh 7.2 million which aims to sponsor teacher- trainee students as part of my strategic initiative.

The ultimate goal is to deploy approximately 300 teachers within three years and effectively addressing the current staff shortage in schools within the Ijara constituency.

I underscored the importance of hard work among teacher trainees emphasizing their crucial role in the success of this initiative.

In line with our agenda to actualize the educational aspirations of Ijara youth, I have today afternoon visited Garissa Teachers Training College ( GTTC) to deliver my message of assurance about their sponsorship and encouraged them to work hard as we seek to provide a local solution to the perennial teacher shortage. I used the opportunity to interact with them and listen to their issues.

Indeed, it was a very interactive moment and I'm happy to see the biggest number of enrollment from Ijara in recent years. A record total of 64 student teachers pursuing Diploma in Primary Teacher Education!

I'm hopeful that by the end of this election cycle, over 300 teachers will be ready to serve in Ijara constituency Primary schools to bridge the gap left by the mass exodus of non local teachers.

I'm delighted and proud to witness the positive impact of the Free Secondary Education Programme, showcasing how well-managed NG-CDF and motivated teachers can reshape the history of schools and students' lives.

My leadership remains dedicated to the National Goals of education and bringing holistic change to Ijara's education history. A special congratulations to Hulugho Boys Secondary School for achieving the highest grades and mean in my constituency.

Acknowledging the accomplishments, I also recognize Hulugho Girls Secondary School and County Council Mix Secondary School as the second and third best schools, respectively.

It is with profound sadness that I received the news of the passing of Mzee Arees Hajji Shurie, the father of our esteemed CDF Chairman, Yunis Arees.

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to Brother Yunis and his family during this exceptionally challenging time. May you find solace and strength as you navigate through the loss of your beloved father. You are in my thoughts, and my prayers are with you.

May Allah (SWT), in His infinite mercy, grant the departed soul of our father a place in Jannah and bestow patience and fortitude upon the grieving families and friends.

The Sheikhow Super Cup was a grand display of sportsmanship and community unity, ensuring that all 74 participating teams were well-equipped with premium uniforms and top-quality field gear, leaving no detail overlooked – from nets to corner flags and officials' attire.

In the midst of intense competition, winning teams in each category reveled in the glory of their triumphs. The rewards matched the significance of the victories, with champions receiving a substantial cash prize of ksh 100,000. Runners-up were also recognized with a commendable ksh 50,000, while those securing the third position earned a respectable ksh 25,000.

Beyond the thrill of athletic achievement, the Sheikhow Super Cup stood out for its emphasis on inclusivity and recognition. The tournament not only celebrated the prowess of the players but also underscored the importance of fostering a sense of community and sportsmanship, making it a noteworthy and standout event in the landscape of community sports.
