Why is Pakistan’s former international cricketer Waseem Haider getting involved in the politics of Faisalabad cricket? As Head of the PCB High Performance Centre Faisalabad, his primary focus should be on player development, talent grooming, and improving the cricket structure in the region.

Being a PCB employee, maintaining neutrality is important. Involvement in local cricket politics raises serious questions about professionalism and conflict of interest. Faisalabad cricket has already suffered due to administrative issues, groupings, and unnecessary politics, and officials holding key development positions should avoid becoming part of such controversies.

The role of a High Performance Centre head is to strengthen cricket at the grassroots and domestic level, not to engage in political camps or influence cricket affairs for personal interests. Chairman PCB and CEO PCB should take notice of the situation and ensure that PCB officials remain focused on their assigned responsibilities for the betterment of Pakistan cricket.
