Today’s story behind the numbers: This #FBI puts away another child predator and sex trafficker.
23-year-old Cristian Morris recruited teenage girls, gave them drugs and posted sexually explicit ads offering them for commercial sex. He forced them to engage in sex acts with clients near the “blade,” an area where traffickers commonly place their victims to engage in commercial sex, in Houston and Dallas. Morris also transported victims between the two cities.
For multiple months, Morris instructed his victims how to solicit clients, how much to charge, and gave them condoms. He kept all proceeds. He was ultimately arrested after he had posted commercial sex ads for the youngest victim, a fifteen-year-old girl.
Morris was sentenced to 32 years following an investigation from the FBI and our law enforcement partners at the Houston Police Department.
This FBI continues our historic effort in fighting violent crime against children and putting away child abusers—locating nearly 7,000 child victims (up 144%) and arresting nearly 3,000 child predators and human traffickers. We will not stop until these criminals are brought to justice.

In the middle of covering the NBA Playoffs, I made my way to Rwanda to support the growth of the game for girls on the continent. As the first female ambassador of the BAL, it’s truly an honor to witness our collective dream becoming reality. The future is bright — and the best is still ahead. ✊🏿
More than one million people were killed in the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda.
Learn how propaganda and hate speech broadcast on the radio played a critical role in the atrocities.

Happy International Day of the Midwife! In Estonia, it is safe to be pregnant and give birth, but unfortunately this is not the case everywhere in the world. It is especially difficult in countries affected by conflict and crises, where women in labor and newborns face serious risks. In these settings, midwives are often the first and only providers of healthcare.
Estonia supports the provision of maternal care in humanitarian crises. Recently, we contributed €30,000 to support the work of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Afghanistan.
#Midwives are the centrepiece of every safe birth, but they need more than just our thanks.
They need:
🟠 Fair pay
🟠 Legal protection
🟠 International training standards
It's time to empower those who care for so many: https://t.co/hUBceuGGcX
