@Pascallisch I have a theory about the wagon wheel effect on real life. For what I gather the wagon wheel effect on real life is accompanied with certain kinds of artificial illumination and the mechanism is very similar to what happens on recorded video. (1/3)

If you have a spinning top (you can also use a fidget spinner) and a TV you can see the wagon wheel effect on real life by spinning the top on near the TV so that it maybe illuminated by it... (2/3)
