The Wemby being dirty narrative is mad funny because he fucking niggas up in the open and heโs not rough enough to draw a flagrant so idk if imma call it dirty per se
@ced_jayy I think the funniest part of that standup is the idea that he even viewed the situation from that perspective like why was that even on the table for you gang you were like 45+ when you said this. Glad he turned it into a joke but also lol stop being weird brah
WVU retired my number yesterday. ๐๏ธ
My family โ this is yours.
@PatMcAfee โ you made this happen. Love you, brother.
My teammates โ WE built this.
Everyone who reached out โ I felt it all.
Mountaineer forever.
But thatโs the cost of challenging a long standing legacy. Itโs often an uphill battle for the challenger and itโs not equal because they arenโt equals. Social equity is huge here and Drake severely miscalculates his standing amongst the jury of his peers & fans, imo youโre rewarding him for that. Like I said, LeBron, Brady, Kanye and even Jay himself werent afforded that luxury. They challenged legacy with excellence that won ppl over and their seemly unfair climb is what makes the top spot so valuable. Anything else is cheapening the seat. I think heโs extremely capable but his initial approach failed but heโs a student of the game. If you really wanna be the king, you reload and attack again ๐ฏ
I guess I can respect that perspective, I think of them as high lvl competitors who do not need that sort of protection. Nobody protected LeBron as he chased the legacy of Kobe & Jordan, nobody felt bad for Peyton manning when Tom Brady was whoopin his ass. I canโt imagine someone like him needs to be afforded that kind of support at the highest level of this art form, Iโm not into making the crown weigh less so to speak
I mean my point was that you are trying to normalize it because you arenโt capable of disproving it. I wouldnโt draw an equivalence from Drake to Jay either because the sentiment has always been different no matter the overlaps and the sentiment is part of what draws the criticism on Drake for many folks (using an art form specifically created for black activism & expression, for commerce exclusively - his entire discography has become cultural exploitation index)
I know athletes typically have to go through a ton of undeserved scrutiny but in the case of having an insanely bad shooting motion as a WNBA player, I feel like the criticism is both valid and earned because wtf is this form lol
