Hedge funds are rushing back into tech stocks:
In the week ending Thursday, hedge funds recorded their largest purchase of US technology stocks since December 2022.
This also marked the 3rd-largest weekly purchase in at least 5 years.
The move was primarily driven by long additions, followed by short covering.
Software, semiconductor, and semiconductor equipment stocks saw the strongest demand, followed by tech hardware names.
Furthermore, hedge funds purchased Magnificent 7 stocks for 4 consecutive days ending Thursday.
Hedge funds are piling back into tech.
The last all-time high for the S&P 500 was on June 2.
As we've noted many times, the stock market has never peaked for the year in June and 2026 wasn't going to be the first. One small gain tomorrow and we are back at ATHs.
