BREAKING: NASA has begun integrating the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope with @SpaceX launch hardware at Kennedy Space Center.

Roman is now mounted to its payload adapter and launch-support fitting, which will connect it to Falcon Heavy’s second stage. Next, it will be enclosed inside Falcon Heavy’s protective fairing and transported to SpaceX’s hangar at Launch Complex 39A.

Liftoff is targeted for August 30, nine months ahead of schedule. Roman will study dark energy and dark matter, map billions of galaxies and discover thousands of new planets, with a field of view at least 100 times larger than Hubble’s.
