Many families have been forcibly separated for over a year because of border closures and the cost of quarantine hotels.

This disgusts me. @PattyHajdu essentially just blamed a victim of sexual assault. Because she chose to travel. Because hotels are “protecting” Canadians. Even though this hotel did the opposite of protect a woman. I feel sick.

Minister Hajdu, the person in question who was sexually assaulted is one of the plaintiffs in our Charter Challenge. It was her bravery and strength that shed light on the flaws of the current system.

There is no but.

Some of our members have been receiving rejection letters/request for more info even though they emailed all the info the IRCC requested on October 8th. It is not right to add additional requirements after the fact.

I’m trying to be sympathetic towards the hardworking individuals at the ministry - such inconsistencies must be frustrating for them to deal with. But imagine what it’s like for couples and families who have been apart for 7+ months...

Another example of inconsistency: American extended family received email on the right stating they do NOT need IRCC authorization even though the website clearly states otherwise for extended family members.
