Very happy to introduce a new fungus to the world, Endoantria benetecta, which represents not only a new species but a new genus of ascomycetes. It is special as it has only been found in temperate rainforests in Scotland and Wales. It's a super interesting fungus: here's why

Big congrats to the exceedingly fungal @ilichenmoss for their @BBCNews debut. Was really fun to work together on this and a real tribute to the excellent work that George does (and continues to do!) 🍄 https://t.co/oBdoZJeU1x
@GoJodfrey Nice. The fungus is very likely there as well. The closest record is in North Western Germany very close to the border with Denmark. I will be interesting to know the extent of the fungus there, particularly on roofs.

Canada can be breathtaking. But even the Canadian Rockies have their limits. ⛰️
With AI, photos and videos can look real, even when they are not. #ThinkBeforeYouShare
A single 400-year-old ancient oak produces 234,000 litres of oxygen a year while soaking up carbon dioxide, and can support more than 2,000 species of bird, insect, fungus, and lichen.

My photo vs AI SLOP! You CANT tell the difference anymore! 😤
It is so SUFFOCATING to watch social media be filled with deceptive AI that is drawing attention away from real photographers and REAL stories trying to be told about wildlife!
It is so DANGEROUS for conservation! 🕷️
The disrespect for scientists these days is shocking. I made the news for photographing an extremely rare spider in the jungles of PNG and the comments are just full of dismissive people. What has happened to having respect for experts in their field?
