WHAT YOU MEAN NO EVIDENCE OF CRIME?
The erasure of black girls in media is real and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise. It’s to the point where you can’t ignore what’s happening. There’s no valid excuse as to why black girls can’t be cast in these y/a projects or why there isn’t more black led y/a projects.
The Cheetah Girls casting is just a reflection of what casting today looks like today. How many shows and movies you know cast two or more black girls in a project nowadays? Disney was never dedicated to preserving the culture of The Cheetah Girls.
Those white boys killed that young black man. And will most likely get away with it UNLESS we bring more attention to it and DEMAND the police system do something about it.
I’m sorry but if you don’t think a billionaire shutting down one of the busiest streets in nyc ON THE 4TH OF JULY so she can have a wedding in a castle built inside a basketball court, is not the epitome of out of touch and “let them eat cake” then you just don’t care about people.
This is how you do donations, you donate towards worldwide charities and not just American charities.
And you certainly don’t do it in the same week as your wedding for good press…
This is what the original Cheetah Girls looked like btw… you are not wrong for feeling like it’s been white washed. Not even Dorinda was white, she was Japanese and AA and even the Hispanic characters were Afro-Latina. Disney IS playing in our faces
no shade to the actresses, but I might have to tap out. how does the cheetah girls, a book series that was initially written as a fully black girl group (with one adopted white girl for the movie adaptations), turn into a movie reboot with ONE black main cast member??
I love this trick from baby boomers. Make things insanely unaffordable and do not raise workers’ wages. Then, complain that young people spend too much money on frivolous activities like eating lunch.
