I have several deadlines coming up, so I figured now was the perfect time to hyper-fixate on the Lorrie storyline in Turnpike's catalog. Here is my current working theory for what order the story progresses through the songs: 🧵
Not only is pregnancy being labeled "body horror" ridiculous political propaganda... it's also a flat out lie.
Pregnancy DRAMATICALLY reduces your risk of developing breast, ovarian, and uterine cancers.
If you breastfeed your baby, you’re 10 percent less likely to develop heart disease.
When you're pregnant, the very composition of your blood changes to help you tolerate blood loss during labor.
If you have autoimmune diseases like lupus or MS, your symptoms DRAMATICALLY improve during pregnancy as your immune system gets a boost from your baby, AND you're far less likely to ever develop MS after being pregnant.
Many women experience LIFELONG menstrual cramp relief because of pregnancy.
The restructuring of your brain actually makes you far better at multitasking.
I could keep going--but pregnancy isn't an oppressive force of "body horror." It's a miraculous journey of health and vitality.
your entire body changes, your teeth fall out, you hair falls out, your brain LITERALLY SHRINKS, and don’t even get me started on how the belly looks.
calling pregnancy body horror is an accurate statement.
@Elliesmommyy23 Unless you’re wearing a dress or something, you can literally just lift your shirt from the bottom, pop your boob out, and use the bottom of the shirt to cover whatever. I literally never cover up AND never flash anyone in the slightest
Just spent the entire day at the Crane Trust on the Platte River learning about monarch butterflies and prairie restoration and now I just got a free extra chicken strip in my Raising Canes order. 20/10 day
@curioussearche1@MrsCMFrancis Have you considered people are more taken aback by your weirdly aggressive response than to the idea of the hot chocolate being bad for teeth?
During my last pregnancy I went through TSA wearing a sweatshirt with a front pocket. When I went through the tube thing the agent asked what I had in my pocket (nothing, I was just large) so I said “a baby” and the man was mortified
Happy 7&7 day to all who celebrate.
