The only thing sad about this Real Madrid window is that it could have been done 3 seasons ago when 3 key players suffered an ACL in 6 months. If Ancelotti was supported with transfers, we won't be running helter skelter after going two seasons trophyless
🚨💣 EXCLUSIVE: Real Madrid reach verbal agreement to sign Marc Cucurella from Chelsea, HERE WE GO!
Verbal agreement in place between all parties, player too — he’s the left back wanted by Mourinho. Details to follow.
Cucurella leaves #CFC and joins Madrid after World Cup. ⚪️🇪🇸
Looking back on it, Real Madrid 23/24 was an overrated season.
Yes, they won the Champions League. Yes, they won LaLiga while missing three starters due to ACL injuries. Yes, they only lost two matches.
But none of their players won the Pichichi, so does it really count?
In 24 hours, Mikel Arteta took Arsenal to first league in 22 years, Andoni Iraola took Bournemouth to Europe for first time ever and Unai Emery took Aston Villa to first European trophy in 44 years, first of any kind in 33 years. All born within 30 miles of each other. Gipuzkoa.
Hard to know where to start with Carvajal. There's so much to unpack. He's the greatest right-back in Real Madrid history, and came along at a time where we desperately needed a world class right-back. A big game player with reliable two-way production. One goal and assist in Champions League Finals -- both crucial. His insane golazo to win the European Super Cup vs Sevilla. Had a ton of iconic assists. Will always remember his performances putting Luis Diaz and Frank Ribery in his pocket; and his entire 2024 run where he went to another level. The void that Salgado left was huge. We had been waiting for someone like Carvajal for a long time. 6 UCLs, and the best RB in UCL history as well. Death to gluten.
🚨 Florentino Pérez: “Dani Carvajal is a legend and a symbol of Real Madrid and its youth academy.
His image alongside our beloved and unforgettable Alfredo Di Stéfano laying the foundation stone of Real Madrid City will forever remain in the hearts of all Madridistas and in the history of our club.
Carvajal has always exemplified the values of Real Madrid. This is and always will be his home.”
Mbappe himself undermined Xabi's authority when Xabi instructed the team to give a standing ovation to Barca after the Supercopa final. He doesn't have much of a leg to stand on
