Hot take but I think if people spent the same amount of time teaching kids instead of complaining how they don’t know anything, we MIGHT just fix that issue
When I first cut my hair short at freshly 18 my mum tried to kick me out and refused to talk to me for weeks…but sure, life is just all sunshine and rainbows for trans men right?
@vocalcry My university library is open to the public during working hours (for students it’s 24/7) and every year around September-October, all the year 12 students take over the whole fkn thing to study for their final exams and it’s a nightmaaaare
If at any point, someone discovers that I’m trans, the fact that I am a man is no longer relevant because to society at large, I am trans before anything else, and because of that, I am still at a high risk of sexual and physical violence, I still face discrimination daily
I don’t post on here often anymore, but I wanted to put my two cents in. As a trans man, any male privilege I benefit from is entirely dependent on passing or not. While I mostly pass irl, the patriarchal systems that men benefit from most do not benefit me in the same way
My ability to “perform” for the patriarchy are much more scrutinised, and any attempt to break away from traditional gender roles is viewed by society as a “sign” that I’m not really a man. What I wear, how I talk, my interests are forever under a microscope.
It’s so interesting that it’s at all acceptable to ever say “trans men are weaponizing their minority status to pretend they’re not oppressors” because saying that about any other group is immediately correctly clocked as a horrific encoded way to silence people
I am tired of having to download an app, create an account, confirm my email, set up a password that has at least 1 letter and 1 special character, enter the code sent to my email, for every single thing on God’s green earth, FUCK EVERY SINGLE COMPANY, AND YOUR STUPID CRAP!!!!!!!
everytime I see the world pedagogy (which is all the time considering i'm doing a masters of teaching) I see the word gogy...which gives me flashbacks to dsmp-era twitter help
