Size of lines is proportional to number of trains per hour at peak times. Victoria line with 36 trains per hour (ie less than every 2 minutes) has the most frequent service in the entire network

@andrehead @leashless Thanks for sharing this link. If adjusted per capacity Elizabeth will be +50% thicker (and maybe Thameslink and overground), ie equivalent to ~30 trains per hour. Northern line -20%. Victoria and Central about the same

@JonjayNeedham1 @BBCLondonNews The "original one" (ie official map) is based on the design by Paul Garbut of 1960s, significantly altered (for worse) by Tim Demutt in 1988. Afterwards, new lines have been added on the top of it making the "original" map very messy and hard to read

London Tube Map by Stingemore c1930. This is a special edition produced for the LMS Railway and highlights their stations at Euston and St Pancras. "We may have been the first to open it out when photographing it as the folds were still stiff from new".
