Dear Elon @elonmusk
You hv certainly stirred up plenty of reaction with ur posts. But this needs a response from me, as did ur “Electronic Voting machines can be hacked” post from some time ago.
As someone who knows a little bit abt Telecom as someone who played a decent-ish role in building Indias wireless sector as an Entrepreneur and then as a policy maker , let me share my thoughts.
It is true that Indias Telecom was a sector beset with opaqueness and corruption for several decades - where cronies ruled under the benevolent love and the politics of ur latest fan (name not withheld - @RahulGandhi )
But under PM @narendramodi , 3 principles govern the tech (including Telecom/Internet) sector.
Open, Safe & Trusted and Accountable.
#OSTA
✅ Open - Free from any monopoly-duopoly. Free and fair competition.
✅ #SafeAndTrusted - Infra, Network , Platforms must be safe and trusted.
✅ Accountable - Every participant should be legally accountable for safety and trust.
I was a MP first and then part of PM @narendramodi jis team when this framework was developed. I have more than a little experience of fighting years of political and bureaucratic opaqueness and corruption, which shaped these principles.
so todays India is not that old crony driven India.
I am not in govt anymore and certainly dont speak for it. But it seems to me that Govt has made it clear: all three satcom licensees are at broadly the same stage of ensuring security clearance by verifying its safety and trust first, then spectrum.
Satellite IP services have many security implications. More so in a country like India which has faced years of Terror and insurgency supported by inmical state actors in our neighbourhood. From 26/11 terror attacks to recent ones in Pahalgam, satcom has been preferred comm for Terrorists. Satellite VOIP and encryption creates more challenges security wise. Not insurmountable but new capabilities and capacity hv to be built to ensure Safety and Trust.
I hv used @Starlink and I think its awesome technology - and represents a new era in mobility innovation. No doubt.
But a country has to plan for itself and its interests before every new choice. Thats what India is doing. Patience is unavoidable and in this case is a necessity.
Krishna had every reason to become a villain.
- Born into chains.
- Separated from His parents.
- Hunted since childhood.
- Born a prince, raised among cowherds.
- Watched His people suffer.
- Lost the people He loved.
- Even lost the love of His life.
- Betrayed.
- Misunderstood.
- Humiliated.
But, He never chose Adharma.
- He chose wisdom over rage
- Dharma over ego.
- Peace when possible.
- War if necessary.
Perhaps that's the greatest lesson- When life gave Him every reason to become Karna or Shakuni,
He chose to become our Kanha.
Doing what's right isn't always what's easy. It might not be what you want, what you like, or even what your heart can bear. But right is right—and it always needs to be done.
I had in my Press Conference categorically stated that the “Topless,Brainless and Shameless” act to blatantly demean India in the World AI Summit was not a “संयोग” but a well thought out “प्रयोग”,designed at the residence of Rahul Gandhi to bring disrepute to India
Sadistic laugh
As Israel, UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain count the losses caused by Iranian missiles and drones, India thanks Dr Ramarao for building the indigenous Akash that tracked 616 Pak missiles and drones (64 simultaneously) before launching interceptors, logging a neutralisation rate of 99.4%
Misplaced priorities
Missed opportunities
Today, the German Federal Chancellor visited Karnataka - a moment of immense diplomatic, economic and strategic significance for our state.
Any other responsible Chief Minsiter would have personally ensured that such a visit was accorded the seriousness it deserved - as an opportunity for investment, industry, employment and long-term growth for Karnataka.
But look at the situation today.
While the German Chancellor landed in Bengaluru, Chief Minister @siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister @DKShivakumar chose to be in Mysuru to receive @RahulGandhi, who was merely transiting to Ooty.
Let that sink in.
❌ Welcoming the head of state from one of the world’s strongest economies was relegated to the back seat.”
✅Political loyalty and “high command pleasing” took priority over Karnataka’s global standing.
This is not just bad optics - it reflects a deep disregard for the state’s interests.
Karnataka deserves leadership that puts the state before the party, state's progress before power politics, and global opportunities before political appeasement.
Karnataka deserves better.

If you are hurt by Dhurandhar destroying your carefully created Aman ki Asha dream, you can watch Ikkis and feel better.
It's about the 1971 war hero Lt Arun Khetrapal, MVC. The story shows his father, Brig Madan Lal, travelling to Pakistan years later and meeting Brig Naser, the Pakistani officer who had allegedly killed Lt Khetrapal in the Battle of Basantar (1971). The film portrays this meeting as warm and emotionally overwhelming because of the respect and care shown to him.
Logically speaking, this film should not have been made if the makers had any sense of respect for their own soldiers, because isolating one courteous exchange within a brutal war distorts historical reality.
Wars are not judged by anecdotes of civility but by patterns of conduct. The Pakistan Army in 1971 was not merely an opposing professional force; it was an army that carried out systematic, large-scale war crimes, mass killings, rapes, and targeted violence against civilians. Tens of thousands of women were raped. Intellectuals were executed. Villages were wiped out. Refugees poured into India in millions. This was not collateral damage; but policy-driven brutality.
Films love symmetry: “brave men on both sides,” “soldiers just following orders,” “war makes everyone equal.” But history is not always symmetrical. In 1971, one side was defending itself and stopping a humanitarian catastrophe; the other was perpetrating it. In that context, highlighting one isolated act of courtesy creates a false moral equivalence, and such a portrayal inevitably softens the collective memory of aggression and crimes.
What 19 year old Vedamurti Devavrat Mahesh Rekhe has done will be remembered by the coming generations!
Every person passionate about Indian culture is proud of him for completing the Dandakrama Parayanam, consisting of 2000 mantras of the Shukla Yajurveda’s Madhyandini branch, in 50 days without any interruption. This includes several Vedic verses and sacred words recited flawlessly. He embodies the finest of our Guru Parampara.
As the MP from Kashi, I am elated that this extraordinary feat took place in this sacred city. My Pranams to his family, the several saints, seers, scholars and organisations from all over India that have supported him.
The 8.2% GDP growth in Q2 of 2025-26 is very encouraging. It reflects the impact of our pro-growth policies and reforms. It also reflects the hard work and enterprise of our people. Our government will continue to advance reforms and strengthen Ease of Living for every citizen.
The Dharmastala conspiracy has crossed all the limits! The conspirators have filed a rit petition to high court to quash the very same case which helped constitute SIT! Siddaramaiah and his govt will never be spared by Dharmastala Manjunatha for this grave atrocity!!
The Dharmasthala conspiracy has now crossed all limits. Girish Mattennanavar and another individual, who had earlier made allegations against Dharmasthala and were part of this conspiracy, have now filed a petition before the High Court seeking to quash the FIR that was registered to probe their own claims of deaths, rapes, and other serious offences.
It was based on their allegations, complaints, and representations that the FIR was registered and the SIT was constituted. However, once the SIT uncovered evidence indicating a larger conspiracy and began issuing notices to all those involved including this individual he rushed to the Court seeking to quash even the preliminary FIR.
If they never wanted an investigation, why did they make such grave allegations in the first place? And if they truly sought justice, why are they now attempting to halt the proceedings? This only exposes the fact that the entire episode was nothing but a deliberate and malicious conspiracy.
When on mission against terrorism, to carry India’s message to the world, it’s distressing that people at home are calculating political allegiances. Is it so difficult to be patriotic?
Unplanned, hurried disorganised celebrations lead to tragic stampede. Innocent Lives Lost.
As former City Top Cop, I would have told CM to postpone Victory March and felicitations. Yesterday night’s crowd frenzy was enough warning to allow emotions to calm down. @CMofKarnataka and his incompetent @DrGParameshwara must take immediate responsibility to restore Order.
We had them by neck this time. We really should not have let them escape this easily! Atleast should have made them accept their atrocities and hand over the terrorists and handlers responsible for Pahalgam. Did we really win today? Let's just say I'm disappointed!
