Interacted with a teenage girl today whose father has been arrested in a false rape case filed by her maami because she has a marital dispute with her mama.

I read the FIR

The woman doesn't mention any date, any time when alleged incident happened. Just this line "he raped me last year" and FIR lodged and man arrested too along with husband of this woman

This girl writes "We can only meet my father once a week for 15 minutes and that's heartbreaking, to witness your own father cry in front of you helpless is taking a toll on me and my mother mentally. She keeps telling me how she wants to commit suicide..That woman(maami) is playing the victim card over and over again, also my dad's job might be lost due to this. He was the only earning source in my family."

Courts in India say dignity of a woman is sacrosanct. They treat words of a woman as gospel truth.

I question if such presumptions aren't in direct conflict with legal principles of evidence and investigation of a crime. In times when rape allegations are being slapped in flimsiest of disputes can just words hold such strong power that too for only one gender ?

Respected @arjunrammeghwal Sir, lacs of families are impacted because of misuse of women centric laws today. I plead you to meet some victims and understand this pain of common citizens. Misuse of rape laws is spreading everywhere. It's really scary. Please help 🙏
