This is Pele, my new rendering library for diagrams and charts, compatible with the latest Mermaid syntax.
- 100-500× faster than mermaid.js
- 6× smaller bundle
- No dependencies
- Easy to theme
- Responsive to device width
In pursuit of making Obsidian insanely fast and cohesively designed, I always found the Mermaid library to be too big, too slow, and too hard to theme. Pele will be the new renderer in the next version of Obsidian, but you can start using it now.
Pele [ˈpɛlɛ] is named after the goddess of volcanoes and fire. It's open source under the MIT license. Try the playground!

It's happening!
Python 3.15 is being released later today!
And to celebrate (?) I'm spending the next 15 days writing about Python 3.15
In a couple of hours I'll be sharing what I think are some of the most exciting new features of 3.15.
See you in a bit!

@Reds_Rugby@Panasonic_WK Awesome game. Thanks for coming ! As a Queenslander in Japan it was great to be able to see a Reds game live for a change. Fantastic atmosphere at the ground too.
@willmcgugan lots of good suggestions already. I've been building a simple market making bot from scratch for the learning experience. Against the Serum DEX on Solana. Fully de-centralized, and performant. These guys https://t.co/TRb2XqrTyG have posted lots of useful python examples.
TIL that the first web browser ever, built by Tim Berners-Lee in 1989, was written in Objective-C for NextStep.
The original source code is being auctioned as an NFT later this week, but a roughly accurate copy is on GitHub here: https://t.co/CQiFNSzDv9
