@marclou Hey marc
If what stimulates you the most is 0->1, why not start scaling human into your existing businesses and focus on what you like the most?
It would cost you money but give you back the time without culpabalizing and the energy to launch new successful startups
@robj3d3 Hello Rob! Love this, I would love to be part of it. I am a french indie hacker, I built 4 failed startups. The next one will be the right one! Sending you a video right now
I built a SaaS idea killer
Trying to reverse engineer the thing to find my next idea worth building
I am comitted to do marketing seriously this time, I just want to make sure I am working on the right thing
upwork is a fking scam
> you need to pay connects in order to make clients proposals
> but 9/10 clients post jobs with a fixed budget of $50-$70
> and the remaining 1/10 that have a $1000+ budget for a coding job don't even open the proposals / send a message to anyone
so basically paying for connects is useless, and it's extremely hard to get a decent paying job there
+ not even a configurable alerts system where you can filter jobs so basically receiving 20+ useless emails / day
anyone to build a smarter / less scammy alternative?
Day 10 of refocusing on my MVP agency
FIRST BOOKED CALL! 🥳
But what really makes me happy is that it happened entirely organically, user request very specific keywords on Google, finds my page, books call after 2min
Day 5 of refocusing on my MVP agency
Today I got 2 small wins:
- 1 click from google
- 1 click from chatGPT(!!)
What's cool about google is that I know exactly what was the user request and the page that ranked #1
But for chatGPT, I have no idea, and it's frustrating because that could help a lot
I would love to know exactly why AI mentioned my website, what was the thing that the user asked for this to happen
Thanks!! Yes, one thing actually: an llms.txt in my public/ folder (nextjs)
I figured out the entry page from that chatgpt traffic: it was a comparison page against another known MVP agency. I could guess that the prompt was probably someone asking an alternative an chatGPT positioned me as one in the answer!
This 2026 year I took a decision:
Focus entirely on my MVP agency
Week 1 summary:
> Created ~20k pages (mostly pSEO)
> Posted on HN (Show HN, got 100 visitors from that)
> Listed on: G2, Google Business Profile, LinkedIn page, Crunchbase, X page (@webscension), Yelp, Product Hunt, indiehackers, Featured.
> Added testimonials and more work
Results:
>463 visitors so far
>23 clicks from Google organically (pSEO working!)
>0 booked call
>0 WhatsApp messages
Learnings:
>Visitors don't matter at all. The right visitors do. So I will stop chasing visitors, and instead try to "capture" buyers from Google (high-intent research)
>Listing on multiple platforms is easy and really improves DR, not sure if this helps ranking better than other competitive websites but it feels like it
What I plan to do week 2:
> List on way more platforms, my goal is to really increase DR and maybe rank higher naturally
> Track which keywords are giving my web pages impressions and improve these pages to rank higher by comparing to competition
> More "alternative to" pages against well-established MVP agencies
> Start a focused YT channel and post videos around MVPs to position myself as an expert and make it easier to gain trust from my target audience
> Instead of just showing work I did, turn into deep case studies with screenshots so that users don't need to navigate to clients websites to see what I did
I hate cold outreach. I still don't know exactly where to find people that need an MVP and are non-technical but have the budget to pay for one. I have some ideas on who I can reach out to, but here's what I decided:
Full focus on inbound to get first client before end of month.
If I fail, month 2 will be dedicated to outbound
Any tips on how to freaking make sure my website’s favicon is taken into account in Google search results? It’s been literaly months and still not showing… That is killing my CTR
Google has a real problem with that, even for their own new products:
