*NANS PRESIDENT GIVES FRESH UPDATE ON DELAYED NELFUND UPKEEP PAYMENTS*

The President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, has provided a fresh update on the delay in the disbursement of NELFUND upkeep allowances to student beneficiaries across the country.

Speaking in a video posted on his verified Facebook account while addressing issues surrounding the alleged NELFUND fund discrepancy involving D.S. Adegbenro ICT Polytechnic, Ogun State, the NANS President briefly touched on the issue of delayed upkeep payments.

According to him, NELFUND has indicated that the delay was caused by technical glitches, which are currently being worked on. He stated that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issue and that the payment of upkeep allowances is expected to resume soon.

The update comes after NANS had earlier expressed concern over the delay in 2 months upkeep disbursements and called on NELFUND to take urgent action to address the situation.

Students awaiting their allowances are advised to remain calm and continue to monitor official updates from NELFUND and NANS regarding the resumption of payments.

He said the school charges N236,000 for HND 1 but uploaded N350,000 on the NELFUND portal. He also said the school charges N152,000 for ND II but uploaded N330,000 on the portal.
