i'll keep saying it: anyone who lacks confidence should spend more time around people with power. You will see how incredibly stupid a lot of of them are, and how much fumbling there is. There is really no reason to have a lack of confidence unless it is directly based on a lack of skills. If the lack of confidence is just based on thinking, other people are somehow vastly smarter: It is very easy to empirically prove they are mostly not.
My life got a lot better when I started viewing everything as rigged in my favor. Tragedy. Heartbreak. Victory. Risk. Devastation. Euphoria. Uncertainty. No matter what happened, I operated with a foundational belief that I would be fine either way. And magically, I was, once I started believe so.
What do you have to lose?
Housing is unaffordable. Dating is cooked. They’re building AI data centers and expanding mass surveillance. Your job is becoming obsolete. Your degree is becoming obsolete. A dystopian future is coming.
Stop being a fucking pussy and do what you want to do.
If you want to post content, fucking do it.
If you want to move to Thailand, do it.
If you want to sell drugs, do it.
If you want to break up with your partner, do it.
Live life on your own terms, not the ones society picked for you.
Kobe Bryant died 6 years ago.
People forgot about him after just a week since he was gone.
And he was a basketball legend.
You're literally a nobody.
Realize no one cares if you live or die. So live your life the way you want anyway.
Take risks so you don't live in regret.

The dichotomy in their smiles is everything. All Might’s grin is cocky and full of confidence while Deku’s smile is more gentle and earnest.
Whereas the Symbol of Peace’s smile told the world, "I’m here, leave it to me," Deku’s smile says, "I’m here, you're not alone."
there is a version of masculinity that is calm, disciplined, warm, funny, physically strong, deeply loyal and completely unbothered by what people think of it. that version is not toxic. that version is what every man is capable of and what the world is genuinely desperate for right now.
The first person to show urgency usually pays the higher price. In business, dating, conflict, and negotiation, visible hunger gives the other side room to slow down, test you, and raise the cost. Control your pace. Desire is not weakness until you let it become visible.
Luxuries we forget are luxuries:
- Being able to call your mom.
- A full fridge
- Being in good health.
- Clean sheets.
- Sleeping through the night
- A good sweat.
- Coming home to your people.
- Little hands reaching for you.
- Peace of mind.
- A slow Sunday morning.
- Laughing so hard your stomach hurts.
- Unexpectedly hearing your favorite song.
- Someone genuinely checking in on you.
- Warm sunshine on your skin
This sentence by Dostoyevsky never fails to hit hard:
“You sensed that you should be following a different path, a more ambitious one, you felt that you were destined for other things but you had no idea how to achieve them and in your misery you began to hate everything around you.”
Stop trying to force discipline. It doesn't work that way. Discipline is a byproduct of self-respect, and you can't fake the byproduct. You want the routine without doing the harder thing underneath it. You want order in your day while your head is a war zone. It will never hold. You stack rules on a mind that doesn't respect itself and call it a system. It collapses every time, and you blame your willpower. You cannot win while being are at war with yourself. At full strength you don't negotiate with the alarm. You move because letting yourself rot is off the table. Right now you negotiate, because somewhere you decided you're not worth the standard. You break small promises to yourself every day. You say tomorrow and mean never. Every time, you teach yourself your word means nothing. Then you want the big goals to stick. They won't. Discipline is the receipt of self-respect, and you haven't paid. Manage your internal state or everything you build sits on sand. Get your head right. Calm your inner world and order stops being a fight. It becomes the default, because you're not fighting yourself anymore. Your full potential is just you with nothing left to prove to yourself, running clean because the war is over. You keep skipping the one decision that unlocks it. You keep trying to out-discipline a self-image that's on the floor. It will never work. Raise the floor. Respect yourself enough that the standard isn't up for debate.
