A permanent low barrier shelter on Cherry Avenue, contributions towards another shelter on Ridge, bathrooms on the Downtown Mall, support staff - these are important steps towards addressing homelessness in Charlottesville.

We'll be in Market Street Park today 12-2 handing out hot food! The Feeding Our Neighbors program is changing after October, as two of our leaders are moving out of the country. If you're able to, please help the program continue into the winter. https://t.co/vSR40SqQgi
UPDATE: The Disability Divest demand letter has been signed by over 600 individuals and endorsed by 39 groups/organizations. We demand that the disability establishment end its relationships with war profiteers.

We'll be at Market Street Park in Charlottesville today inshallah, 12-2pm! On first Saturdays, we distribute food to our neighbors (those who need food and housing). We also have free English and Spanish translations of the Qur'an and other materials to distribute. Alhamdulillah!
@UVA That's the spot where I saw armed thugs brutally attack peaceful protesters without warning, then heard UVA lie about it for weeks while blatant, clear evidence of their lies was abundant.
URGENT - Walkout TODAY at CHS in support of Palestine and the teacher who was suspended for voicing their support of Palestine.
C'ville friends, students at CHS are asking for community members to show up, bring friends, bring the kids, bring the babies, bring water, and snacks! They need lots of support because they know students are scared by choices that CHS admin have made.
Make signs in support of Palestine, in support of the students, and in support of the teacher who was suspended.
Join us for Jummah next week, June 7 1:15-3:15pm at Massanutten Regional Library in Harrisonburg.

We'll be at Market Street Park this Saturday, June 1, noon-2pm! On the first Saturday of each month, inshallah we will join forces to distribute food to neighbors in Market Street Park. We have free English translations of the Qur'an and other material to distribute.
I wrote about a nursing student who was being denied access to UVA Grounds, keeping him from a summer externship.
UVA has since relented, allowing him to begin his paid position and avoiding a lawsuit. Abdelhamid had planned to sue UVA as a last resort.

A couple dozen students walked out of the UVA graduation as Jim Ryan took the stage. A few are holding signs on the rotunda steps. Not sure how long they’ll be allowed to keep it. The sign was laying on the steps until admin told them they have to hold it.
“Blood on UVAs hands”
if you are a member of the UVA community who would prefer to skip the hypocritical exercise in civility policing that Commencement surely will be—or even if you’re going to Commencement but would like one event where snipers won’t be scoping you from the roofs—check this out!
Yesterday UVA administration held a bogus “town hall” where they didn’t let anyone speak and lied about the police violence on Saturday.
So now UVA faculty are holding our own town hall to voice our concerns and discuss what must be done moving forward. Please share far & wide♥️
