An employee from @IDBI_Bank, RAKESH ROSHAN, ended his life, leaving behind a note saying he couldn’t handle office pressure and family responsibilities together.

It’s painful to even READ this.

Every day in banks, pressure is rising.
Targets, deadlines, threats, humiliations… We are treated like PF numbers, not humans.
And let’s be honest this pressure won’t reduce in future, it will get worse.

But please, to all my fellow bankers:
👉 Don’t carry everything alone.
👉 Talk to someone a friend, colleague, family member.
👉 Share before you break.
👉 Management only cares for profits, NOT your mental peace.

Your life is much bigger than your branch, targets or performance ratings.

If you ever feel trapped, talk.
Don’t choose silence. Don’t choose this way.

EMI COMMS. | Today, borrowers only get EMI reminder alerts from the banks, which is about the total EMI amount and the due date. In some cases they sent after deducting the amount from your account. But in most cases people don't know how much they are paying toward interest, principal, or what remains outstanding.

Many bank agents lure them into low-EMIs, no-EMIs without clearly communicating how much interest they'll have to pay back in total. All they show is that they pay very less every month.

Ordinary people who don't spend time doing their own research, falls for such pressure tactics from banks and often fall in debt traps. A lot of people have fallen into the trap and it is showing up in debt to GDP ratio which has risen significantly last few years.

We propose that every EMI intimation (SMS/email/letter) must include:

- EMI amount
- Interest component
- Principal component
- Outstanding principal
- Date of final installment

Such clarity will help borrowers make informed decisions, avoid debt traps, and reduce financial distress, especially among vulnerable groups.

We urge @RBI to mandate greater transparency in loan communications. We request you, readers to support this by sharing it far and wide, if you think this is a good step in improving transparency.
