4. Rhenium creates an even bigger headache.

• Gold melts around 1,064°C.
• Rhenium melts at a 3,100°C.

These are not normal alloys like copper. They are refractory metals that stay hidden deep inside by making traditional testing a total nightmare.

3. Some fraud jewellers sell at cheap prices and scam you by filling jewellery with metal powder like tungsten and rhenium.

Why these metals? They beat the weight test perfectly.
• Gold density: 19.3 g/cm³
• Tungsten: 19.25 g/cm³

2. The XRF machine gives you a false sense of security because it has one flaw that

• It only tests the SURFACE.
• It shoots X-rays that penetrate just a few microns deep.

It gives you the gold content of the outer layer but it does NOT tell you what is hiding deep inside.
