This was the 2nd known UFO incident ever filmed (by Delbert Newhouse) and it took place about 20 minutes from where I live. The public first saw this film in 1956–

The earliest documented screening of the film was January 14, 1953, when the Tremonton film was shown to the CIA-sponsored Robertson Panel in Washington, D.C. That was a closed government screening, not a public release.

In May 1956 the Tremonton footage was incorporated into the theatrical documentary U.F.O. (also known as Unidentified Flying Objects: The True Story of Flying Saucers). An Air Force document explicitly states that the film U.F.O. was released to movie theaters in May 1956 and that its UFO footage included material obtained from Newhouse.
