But shouldn't you expect the same from your boyfriend? The moment he says it's customary in their culture for a woman to convert before marriage, that's a huge red flag. You didn't bring religion into love, so why is he doing the same? Why are you allowing it? If you can dismiss your parents if they bring religion into question over your relationship, why can't you do the same to your boyfriend?
