I am pleased to have opened the new physical rehabilitation center in Saada today. A center that ICRC constructed over the last 2 years.
The center will ensure those with disabilities are not left behind.
With the right support, they can play active roles in their communities.
As Mirjana Spoljaric Egger becomes the first woman president of @ICRC, we take a moment to celebrate the many ICRC women who have contributed to protecting and assisting people affected by armed conflict and other violence.
Armed conflict disrupts the lives of many communities, leading to a breakdown in water supplies. The ICRC creates or maintains a sustainable living environment and provides water in conflict areas. This work helps to reduce the suffering of those affected.

Corruption in the time of #COVID19 has the potential to seriously undermine good governance around the world & send us even farther off-track in our work to achieve the #GlobalGoals.
I urge all governments & leaders to be transparent & accountable. https://t.co/de90P0jsKr
Women are losing their jobs at a greater speed than men due to the #COVID19 crisis.
Governments must work to ensure that women's job prospects are not damaged by the pandemic in the long run.
@ILO has 5 recommendations to achieve this. https://t.co/GnUWa9TlLK
