🥋KASHISH MAILK WINS BRONZE AT ASIAN TAEKWONDO C'SHIPS
Kashish Malik lost her Semis to World C'ships 🥈Dunya Abutaleb🇸🇦 0-2 (2-12, 2-7) to win 🥉in Women's -53 kg category.
This is also first time Team India bagged more than a medal from a single edition of Asian Taekwondo Kyorugi C'ships.
Indian women are rewriting history on the international taekwondo stage. In a landmark moment for the sport, Kashish Malik clinched a bronze medal at the Asian Taekwondo Kyorugi Championships 2026 in Ulaanbaatar, powering India to its best-ever performance at the prestigious continental event.
For the first time in history, India returned with multiple medals from a single edition of the Asian Championships — a breakthrough driven entirely by the grit and brilliance of its women athletes. Shortly before Kashish’s podium finish in the women’s 53kg category, Etisha Das had already secured a medal in the women’s 73kg event, making it a defining campaign for Indian taekwondo in Mongolia.
The achievement is especially significant given the fierce level of competition at the Asian Championships, where global powerhouses like South Korea, China, Iran, Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia dominate the sport. Yet, India’s women stood fearless, proving they belong among Asia’s elite.
Kashish Malik’s journey through the tournament embodied resilience, composure and tactical excellence — qualities that reflected not just personal triumph, but the rising strength of women in Indian sport. Together, Kashish and Etisha have delivered more than medals; they have delivered inspiration, showing a new generation of girls that Indian women can fight, rise and shine on the biggest stages in the world.
