I made up my mind to fuck off when a few years ago, a metro pillar fell on a woman and her daughter in Bangalore.

I've been more patriotic than a lot of you combined. I had all the vigor in me to fix things here, to build here, to bring money in here, to do everything in my power and take my nation as high as I could.

Trust me, I've dreamt it all.

But for once, I imagined my mother and my sister in that woman's place.

My dreams felt so meaningless after that. My love for my country felt insulted. It turned into a joke that day. I couldn't come up with one good answer if someone asked me "all this for what?"

Could've been me. Could've been my mother. My father. My family. My best friend.
