A powerful and sobering presentation by @LucyLNam, our national data reveal a shocking reality that women with Turner Syndrome undergoing aortic surgery in the U.S. face disproportionately high morbidity and mortality. This is a call to action that cannot be ignored. @TurnerSyndSoc@AATSHQ@STS_CTsurgery@mghachd@AortaEd@MGHHeartHealth

The @iconnections_io team has done a beautiful job to make this the biggest year yet.
Abigail Shrier: "The number one symptom of depression is rumination, pathologically obsessing over your pain. Getting out of your house and accomplishing anything is good for you, sitting around, talking and thinking about your problems is a bad habit."
If you haven’t watched “The Thinking Game” yet, do it.
It’s a rare insight into legit genius, as it follows @demishassabis and @ShaneLegg from their earliest moments of prescience, through each of their world changing achievements (up to and including a Nobel).
They’re just really kind ppl too.

Poker keeps giving. You three are everything I love about this game: unconventional, brilliant people competing and needling each other with that perfect mix of psychological warfare and genuine camaraderie. Thanks for having me🤠🤑@Jason@friedberg@chamath

The Three Archetypes of an Ultra High-Stakes Poker Player
@Jason asked @ImMollyBloom:
“I wonder what you could tell us about the nature of the men who are obsessed with playing this game at these stakes?”
Molly: “ There's a couple different archetypes.”
1) Self-destructive bullet train
“So it's not just high stakes poker, right? It's putting their marriage in bad places in very egregious ways, there's drugs. It’s the hedonic treadmill gone crazy.”
2) Highly competitive, comfortable with volatility
“In fact, they prefer volatility and chaos, but still have some semblance of control over themself.”
3) Rich poker lovers
“There are people that play because they love the game, because they like the aspects of it that make it an incredible game. They like the psychology, they like seeing the results of making high-level decisions with very limited information.”

Today, I shared something deeply personal that I have been building over the past two years, The Ungar Center for Hope.
Sharing this the day before my dad’s anniversary feels especially meaningful.
The Ungar Center for Hope is a first of its kind trauma informed healing and wellness center here in Las Vegas, created to remove the barriers people face when they are just trying to feel better. I wanted to share it here too, because so much of this mission is rooted in my dad, my brother, and everything our family lived through.
My father’s story shaped my heart more than anything else.
He was brilliant, intuitive, and had a gift that could never be taught, but he also carried pain that was not understood or supported. Growing up, I saw both his light and his struggles, and it taught me early that behind every strong exterior is a human being who needs compassion, not judgment.
I started the Ungar Center for Hope because I wanted to build the place I always wished existed, one that removes the hurdles people face when they are just trying to feel better, whether it is long waitlists, high costs, feeling alone, or not knowing where to start. It is something I came to understand in a deeply personal way when I lost my brother to suicide, and I take that into the work I do every day.
Support should be accessible in the moment someone needs it, not weeks later, and depending on the waitlist, sometimes months later. I wanted to create a place where multiple healing modalities come together under one roof, so no one has to feel overwhelmed or alone as they navigate their healing journey.
This center grew from the healing I walked through in my own life, from the experiences that shaped me, and from the hope I found along my healing journey. My heart is in this work, and my hope is that anyone who walks through our doors feels supported and cared for in the moments they need it most.
If you would like to read the full announcement and follow along the journey, it is on @ungarcenter.
