In Pakistan, people have started calling sending money abroad “money laundering.” That is not.

Not every international transfer is money laundering. Sending money abroad is just a wire transfer.

Money laundering requires two things: proceeds from a predicate offence (think drug trafficking, fraud, corruption, smuggling, terrorism financing) and the intent to disguise that criminal origin. Period.
