Most retail investors on PSX never read an annual report.

They rely on brokerage summaries, tips, and price movements instead.

That gap between them and investors who do read annual reports is exactly where returns are made. Here is how to do it in 30 minutes. 🧵

Bad days for traders, but possibly good days for long-term investors.

My experience is that when the market keeps falling, most people get scared. But if you have a long-term plan, some patience and good stocks on your watchlist, these are the days to start accumulating. #PSX

There will be better organisation: Pakistan Tax Authoruty:
The alternative has long been available. We argued for integrated collection in “Case for ‘NTA’”, published in Business Recorder on 27 November 2015. Our books, Tax Reforms in Pakistan: Historic & Critical View and Towards Broad, Flat, Low-rate and Predictable Taxes, document the recurring failures and propose institutional reconstruction. Pakistan does not suffer from a shortage of proposals. It suffers from refusal to implement those that disturb entrenched power.

@DrIkramulHaq If there were no FBR, how would crooked consultants earn their living? First, they create fear of the FBR among taxpayers. Then, they thrive on that very fear, exploiting clients in the name of FBR.

Bull markets attract investors. Difficult markets teach them how to invest.

Many new investors entered the Pakistan Stock Exchange during the bull run, experiencing rising prices but never the frustration of a stagnant or gradually declining market.

They must understand that market corrections are a normal part of investing. A falling share price does not necessarily mean a deteriorating business.

If you have invested in fundamentally strong companies at reasonable valuations, short-term volatility should not shake your conviction. Of course, fundamentals must be reassessed as circumstances change.

The greatest losses often come from speculation, chasing momentum, buying weak companies and acting on market tips without understanding the underlying business.

The stock market is not a shortcut to wealth. It is a mechanism for building wealth over time.

Except for a few exceptions, investing in IPOs on the PSX over the past few years has hardly been a sane investment strategy.

Newly listed companies must deliver performance, uphold transparency and earn investor trust. Capital is attracted by promises, but retained through performance.

@TeeVeeBee1 @alibabakhel Judiciary as well sir

@ZarrarKhuhro It has become ingrained in our minds that every journalist and every government official must be a poor person. As a result, people from ultra rich families are now avoiding these professions. I don't understand how such thinking develops.

[RedZone Wanderer @RedZoneIsb]

@ZarrarKhuhro Thank you for sharing it. Grateful 🙏

[RedZone Wanderer @RedZoneIsb]

How many times will traders be given a new door to enter the tax net, only to walk away?

2024: Tajir Dost Scheme: registration remained far below expectations.
2025: FBR was reportedly considering another registration scheme after the failure of Tajir Dost.
2026: A simplified Special Tax Scheme for Small Shopkeepers, developed with trader consultation, is launched.

Yet, once again, registration is proving difficult.

At some point, the question has to change:

Is the problem the scheme, or the willingness to enter the documented economy?

How many more “Tajir Dost” schemes will it take?
