TVK MLA @AadhavArjuna criticised the order in which songs were played during Tamil Nadu’s swearing-in ceremony, saying the Tamil invocation song ‘Neerarum Kadaludutha’ should always be played first at official events in the state. He said the new protocol — where Vande Mataram and the national anthem preceded the Tamil invocation — was “inappropriate for Tamil Nadu” and claimed the Governor’s office cited a new Union government circular. Arjuna asserted that the earlier tradition would continue in future events.

VIDEO | Delhi: At the Cabinet briefing, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw (@AshwiniVaishnaw) says, “First of all, congratulations to all Central Government employees and pensioners. From 1st January 2025, DA and DR will be increased to 58 per cent, a 3 per cent hike... This will amount to an additional Rs 10,084 crore per year for all Central employees and pensioners.”

He added, “With an investment of Rs 5,863 crore, new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be established across the country... Currently, 1,288 Kendriya Vidyalayas are operational, catering to around 14 lakh students. To expand further, 57 new Kendriya Vidyalayas will be opened, including 20 in districts with no existing Kendriya Vidyalaya, 14 in aspirational districts, and 4 in areas previously classified as Left Wing Extremism-affected districts, (though LWE has now been largely eliminated).”
