மாணவர்களின் எதிர்காலத்தை சீர்குலைக்கும் NEET, CUET போன்ற தகுதித் தேர்வுகளை திணித்து, சமூக நீதி மற்றும் சம வாய்ப்பை பறிக்கும் ஒன்றிய பாஜக அரசின் கல்விக் கொள்கையை கண்டித்து, திருவள்ளூர் மாவட்டத்தில் காங்கிரஸ் பேரியக்கத்தின் சார்பில் நடைபெற்ற மாபெரும் கண்டன பொதுக்கூட்டத்தில் கலந்து கொண்டு உரையாற்றினேன்.

கல்வி என்பது சிலருக்கான சலுகை அல்ல; அனைவருக்கும் சமமாக கிடைக்க வேண்டிய அடிப்படை உரிமை. பொருளாதார நிலை, மொழி, சமூகப் பின்னணி ஆகியவற்றின் அடிப்படையில் மாணவர்களை பாகுபடுத்தும் எந்தத் தேர்வு முறையும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ள முடியாது.

தமிழ்நாட்டின் கல்வி உரிமை, மாநிலங்களின் அதிகாரம் மற்றும் சமூக நீதியை பாதுகாக்கும் எங்கள் குரல் தொடர்ந்து ஒலித்துக் கொண்டே இருக்கும். மாணவர்களின் கனவுகளையும் எதிர்காலத்தையும் பாதிக்கும் NEET, CUET போன்ற தகுதித் தேர்வுகளுக்கு எதிரான எங்கள் ஜனநாயகப் போராட்டம் தொடரும்.

I visited the southernmost tip of India.

I stood at Indira Point. I walked under trees that have stood for centuries. I dove into coral reefs among the most vibrant on earth.

And I sat with the people who live there. Tribal communities, whose land is being taken away by violating the Forest Rights Act. Settlers, many of them former soldiers, placed on these islands by the Indian government, who aren’t getting fair compensation.

The Modi government and BJP tells you Great Nicobar Project is about defence. It is not.

Expand INS Baaz - we will back the government fully. The Navy has been asking for expansion for five years - it has been ignored.

They tell you it is about a transhipment port. It is not. India is already building one in Kerala, which is on the mainland.

What it actually is: 1.5 crore trees felled. Coral reefs erased from official maps. Soldiers and tribals displaced - so one businessman can build hotels and casinos on India’s most irreplaceable ecological land.

Every young Indian I have spoken to understands this. You know that no amount of profit is worth destroying what can never be recovered.

I stand for ecologically balanced development. These islands can be the most extraordinary sustainable destination the world has ever seen. That is the India worth fighting for.

Long overdue. But here, finally.

My wholehearted wishes to brother @VanniArasu_VCK and annan @thirumaofficial — men who earned this through their unrelenting fight for the forgotten. While others played politics, you carried people.

This isn’t just a political milestone. It’s a long overdue reckoning — the oppressed finding their voice not at the fringes, but at the very heart of power. The sidelines is no more your place but corridor of power.

It took too long. But it’s here. And it matters.

I am deeply distressed by the horrifying incident involving the minor girl from Coimbatore, which has shaken all of Tamil Nadu. The parents’ heartbreaking words reflect the immense pain and trauma caused by this inhuman act.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister and concerned authorities must intervene immediately and ensure the harshest possible action against those responsible. Such monstrous cruelty cannot be met with silence or delay.

சித்தாந்த அரசியல் இயக்கமான இந்திய தேசிய காங்கிரஸை விமர்சிக்க, குறைந்தபட்ச அரசியல் அனுபவம் அவசியம்.
கைதட்டலுக்காக பேசப்படும் வார்த்தைகள் சில நிமிடங்கள் மட்டுமே நீடிக்கும்…
ஆனால் மக்கள் நினைவில் நிற்பது அரசியல் நாகரிகமும் வரலாறும் தான்.

By the end of all this, the people of Tamil Nadu will know which are the political parties that faked their anti-BJP stand and betrayed the people of the state all along, and who truly stayed committed to their secular principles.

Despite many voices within the party asking for a different path before the elections, the Congress stood by its commitment and remained with the Secular Progressive Alliance. We fought the election honestly and sincerely. The people, however, have now given a clear mandate for change, and we respect that verdict with humility.
Today, TVK has approached the secular forces of Tamil Nadu seeking support to form a secular front, even amidst possible pressure from the BJP to bring them under its influence. In such a situation, it would be a serious mistake for any secular party to refuse support and indirectly help communal forces gain space in Tamil Nadu.
If acting in the interest of the state, respecting the people’s mandate, and protecting Tamil Nadu’s secular character is called “backstabbing,” then one must also ask: what should we call desperate attempts to cling to power by going against the people’s verdict and opening the doors for BJP’s influence in the state?

Some in the Congress, and others, are gloating about TMC’s loss.

They need to understand this clearly - the theft of Assam and Bengal’s mandate is a big step forward by the BJP in its mission to destroy Indian democracy.

Put petty politics aside. This is not about one party or another. This is about 🇮🇳.
