This is such a good example of why contrast matters in character design. When designing a character you should pop a greyscale filter over your design and look at the values. The dark hair makes the jewellry here stand out much more.
This is what I’ve been thinking about this entire time. Autism or no autism, if my coworker or a community member is on the floor sobbing then my initial & only response is “this person needs support in this moment”. Nothing else.
I did Gymnastics as a child and often times we weren't allowed to wear underwear underneath i was 8 and had to wear a leotard with nothing underneath
Pedophilic misogyny ass rule
“Disabled people can have jobs and take care of themselves, too!”
Some can. Some can’t. The issue is that a person’s right to dignity shouldn’t depend on whether they’re useful to an employer, the economy, or the state.
@PunishedPhD we literally can't win because when we finally break and can no longer work and need care and support we're "taking resources away from people who need them" and "scrounging off taxpayers"
@tinyrowlet No see, if I just put in a lot of work, I can pretend for a while and that will make *them* feel more uncomfortable.
Until I crack from the pressure and either go completely non-verbal or have a meltdown, either of which makes them feel bad and I should be ashamed.
@tinyrowlet That and people going “you’re an adult” as if that magically means you can completely manage your autistic traits and it’s easy to not have meltdowns + assuming there was no attempt to manage and regulate if meltdowns do happen.
people acting like you can just turn off a magic switch and suddenly not be autistic at your job is frying me you people do not understand how much of a disability autism actually is
People forget that in 2016 Reddit was synonymous with “Nazi” and, to their credit, they responded by doing the only correct move and nuking every right wing board they could find from orbit.
@angryaboutbikes i so desperately wish it was possible to give neurotypicals adhd for a day, see how punctual and motivated they feel when they have to constantly fight their own brains just to eat or get up or do the things that they *want & intend* to do. we’d have disability justice overnight
"Uhhhhh if what you're saying is true then basically every day would be a struggle and even achieving basic things would take an inordinate amount of effort, so clearly it's not true" yeah about that
