Pain pts don’t book MD visits, miss work & pay copays for fun because they haven’t tried the weakest thing on the shelf. By the time a pt is in a clinician’s office, they’ve already exhausted Tylenol, ibuprofen, heating pads, positive thinking, & every folk remedy.

@RachelBitecofer It's why chronic pain pts are killing themselves to find relief. Acute pain is bad enough - but it improves over time. Chronic pain that never ends and is completely disrupting to your life?? NOT OKAY! Bring back compassionate pain care!!

I have an almost identical experience. However, in my case I ended up in d ICU as a result of him randomly dropping my Pregabalin (LYRICA) dosage from 200mg 3x daily to 20mg 2x daily.

I’ve been getting it for almost 20yrs. Anyway, I asked 4a refill like any other time (no issues w/d doc at d time). So my fam just picked it up from d pharmacy. When I got it, that’s when I saw 👀 d DRASTIC change in dosage. Silly me, I thought it might’ve been a mistake. He never even discussed it with me and he refused 2 change it back.

I have several diagnoses but d medication 💊 was 4 my #Fibromyalgia . He was my Hematologist 4 #SickleCellAnemia . I went into a severe #crises (#painattack) - and #AcuteChestSyndrome.

My BONES🦴were excruciating - felt extremely fragile as though my bones were beaten throughout my body by a steal/metal bat. Not one bone didn’t hurt (fingers, toes, discs in spine - everything) . I had 2b carried into d ambulance where Iost consciousness and didn’t wake till in d #ICU (with 3 different IV’s in my left arm & 2 in d right). Then I again lost consciousness.

I mean this was a horrendous hospitalization. But one started by my own #physician and not one of d many illnesses I suffer from.

Yes! A family member may be d one overseeing his account now. Even though it may b staff they too are processing. It’s just all so new & raw.

So explaining on Ozzie’s social media profiles how their loved died may not be d most considerate situation 2 put them in right now. That’s all I was thinking.

Plus u can easily Google, ask Siri or AI about it.

None of d advice given by @belaski_meghan worked for me. I wish it did. I was hospitalized for 4 months and d doctors & nurses were rude, refused me d medications I needed and though I asked 4a change, I was refused (given one excuse/another). It was a very tense & unhealthy situation.

I hope d advise works 4u. If not, at least u hv staff (though behind d scenes) that r there 4u and ur loved one.

But u being there as support, a sounding board for d times Rebecca can’t take it and gets angry is d 1 thing she’ll need from u most. Talk it out or d anger builds with each passing hospitalization. That won’t b good since her health is what’s most important. It’s ok 2 let it out - get angry sometimes.

Oh FYI: There are support groups for her and for loved ones of those who have illnesses. Which can really help u both.
