@Spudlink1@Alexfeinberg You’re correct, the original point is a bit silly as a run of 6 black or red in a row is not all that unusual.
But….your counter that 20 or 30 straight also happens with some regularity is also inaccurate (there’s also a gigantic difference between 20 and 30 in this case)
@nychogr@therealmcnair I think the biggest handicap is the fact you are playing in THE MASTERS in front of all the patrons, millions of viewers worldwide, the history/legacy of the whole place…for a non tournament tested golfer the pressure/nerves would be unimaginable
@JeffVeillette@NeedlesOnNews I think Peak Mario teleported in the NHL today is probably a bottom 10 skater in the league, and maybe lower. Just doesn’t have any where near the edge work that modern players do.
@WatchMyReview@Leafs_25 Leafs were never close to winning the Cup. They needed much better support scoring AND much better scoring from their best players. Both things are true.
@JeffVeillette@NeedlesOnNews Yes, but isn’t a mental edge the greatest edge of all?
Not sure your parameters in a “time machine draft”, but I think the game is so advanced that even ‘88 Mario would look badly out of place in today’s game if he simply appeared on the ice today.
@ITheSpace@griff_howe@5150Inprogress@TSN_Parody How is it disingenuous? It happened. Fedorov never led the league in goals and scored 40 once.
Matthews had 69 goals and was 3rd in selke…that’s pretty impressive and unique.
@ITheSpace@griff_howe@5150Inprogress@TSN_Parody Nobody was saying it’s more or less impressive. Just that Matthews being a 60+ goal guy, threat to lead the league in goals, and Selke nominee, has never been done by anyone else.
@ITheSpace@JeffVeillette Fedorov was third in the league in goals, Matthews led the league by 12.
Having a two way C who is/was a legitimate threat to lead the league in goals for several years is extremely unique in NHL history.
@futlng@junonewscom We already have a deal, it’s caused CUSMA. You might want to look at who signed it and who said it was the greatest trade deal ever.
