@Wassimulator@Vvalross1 windows adds some metadata to downloads, `Stream: Zone.Identifier`, that procs SmartScreen. after running once, it is removed and execs no longer proc it. HTTP req+writing bytes can avoid the flag. that is my understanding, at least.
@Wassimulator this is such a racket. "use our store and give us 15%, or else." i'm sure the intent was once honest/good, but the reality now is so frustrating and demoralising for developers.

@cmuratori@Colonthreee I've always thought paying for content is a better deal than ads for all involved. I think many people who prefer free+ads overestimate the $ required for sustainability and underestimate how much ads worsen their experience.
