what are  @solana weak spots?

we sat down with @mert , co-founder & CEO of @Helius , at @token2049 to talk about Solana’s biggest challenges, privacy, AI, and crypto ideas he thinks are overrated.

can Bitcoin and Zcash coexist?
are quantum attacks something crypto should worry about already?
what crypto product would he recommend to his mom?
what would he ask Satoshi?

⚡️@metricxyz: $23B in volume, hidden points, and no official campaign yet 👀

Metric is a propAMM-based DEX aggregator live on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Robinhood Chain.

The protocol spent nearly a year in stealth and has already processed $23B+ in trading volume.

Why we're watching it:

> CTO joined from Uniswap Labs after 3.5 years
>Backed by BNB Chain and Robinhood Crypto accounts
>Already integrated into Binance Wallet
>Point accrual clues found in the code, despite no public campaign

What to do:
> Connect your wallet
> Start swapping through Metric's pools
> If you understand concentrated liquidity, consider adding stablecoins to earn from APY and spreads

Points aren't officially confirmed yet, so keep your test size comfortable. Worth adding to your onchain rotation before a potential campaign goes live

a 39-year-old worker bought bitcoin with every paycheck for 8 years, stacked ~2 BTC, and lost it all in a single moment

in early August, social media flooded with dozens of stories like his...

the Coldcard cold wallet hack reportedly hit 8,865 addresses, with nearly 1,800 BTC stolen (almost $140M)

here's what makes it so brutal:

• 8 years of stacking sats, gone
• ~2 BTC accumulated one paycheck at a time
• an average holding period of 3.5 years among affected bitcoiners
and these weren't reckless traders gambling on shitcoins
they were some of the most conservative bitcoin holders out there

the kind of people who bought, held, and stayed out of the noise

while some streamers get drained after leaking their seed phrase on a casino sponsorship stream, this hack hit long-term holders who did everything they could to protect their stack

8 years of stacking. gone in a moment.

save this

talked to @ilblackdragon, talked to @mert, and somehow this is how you end up on the near council

Mert, welcome to near 🤝

[NEAR Protocol @NEARProtocol]

Helius CEO @mert has joined the NEAR Foundation Council, NEAR Foundation’s governing body.

An early NEAR Intents user and leading voice on privacy, Mert brings an operator’s view to how NEAR builds and grows.

“For crypto to win, we need connected, unstoppable liquidity at planetary scale. A market of markets. Neither Solana, Zcash, or Bitcoin can win on their own, we must work together. And NEAR is how."

⚡️ @Helius CEO Mert Mumtaz (@mert) joins the @NEARProtocol Foundation Council 👀

He’ll help guide NEAR’s product strategy, ecosystem growth, and governance as NEAR Intents pushes its vision of private onchain markets across chains.

The protocol has already processed $33B+ in all-time volume, with confidential TVL above $160M.

🇸🇬 @token2049 through our eyes

we’re back from singapore, but we still have a lot to share

walking around the conference, running into familiar faces, and seeing our friends’ and partners’ booths was such a good time. now you can join us for a first-person look at what we saw at token2049

press play and take a walk through the conference with the incrypted team 🤝

being able to borrow against your bags instead of selling them is a solid unlock. love to see DeFi moving this way 🤝

[BIMA @BimaBTC]

You own the asset.

You should be able to afford to borrow against it.

Bima’s collar loan markets are now LIVE on Base, BNB, and ETH.

We’re bringing down the cost of capital.

Here’s how. 🧵

[Incrypted @incrypted]

After @token2049 , the city literally switched to a different vibe in just a couple of hours.

@Ferrari, @McLarenF1, and @redbull merch everywhere. Signs pointing to the grandstands and fan zones, screens, ads, concerts, crowds, the sound of the cars. In short, even an idiot could tell that it’s @F1 season in Singapore.

This is what true mass-market hype looks like.

My first thought was that crypto is still a long way from that. But then I thought: crypto doesn’t actually need to become #Formula1. It doesn’t need people walking around in Robinhood T-shirts. It doesn’t need your mom to know how Morpho differs from Aave. It doesn’t need the average person to understand what cross-chain liquidity is.

A real win will look completely different. All those Formula 1 fans will open their regular apps, buy a Coke Zero, send money, take out a loan, book a hotel, or ask an AI agent to buy them a ticket.

And they won’t even know that there’s a blockchain running somewhere under the hood.

So there’s no need to wait for the moment when the whole world becomes “crypto people.” We need to wait until cryptocurrencies become such a normal part of the infrastructure that people stop noticing them at all.

Our job is to figure out, before that moment comes, which of today’s rails will actually become part of this system and which will remain pretty demo booths from TOKEN2049.

For now, I’m off to root for Ferrari.

Looks like I’m gonna have to buy a blazer

After two days at @token2049, you start getting a weird feeling.
Everyone around you seems ridiculously successful and professional. Everywhere you look, someone’s tokenizing bonds, someone else is tokenizing stocks, funds, or real estate. Every other person has a $1M strategic partnership with some company. Every third person had breakfast yesterday with a fund whose name sounds like it manages half the planet.

Everyone’s talking about settlement, capital efficiency, institutional liquidity, and regulatory frameworks. And everyone seems to have a lot of “details” and really great “fabrics.”

Meanwhile, here we are with our bags of shitcoins, waiting for the bull run and writing news about an industry that seems to have less and less room for retail.
And by retail, I mean people who want to be full participants in the chaotic, occasionally ridiculous fun of crypto, not just users of polished products that the big boys get to make money from.

You start wondering if crypto really is growing up, and whether it’s finally time to get yourself a blazer so you don’t fall too far behind.

long post alert 🚨
1/3

Before @token2049 , I hit a few side events and wrote down my first impressions. The main takeaway was simple: crypto has mostly built the rails. Now the fight is over who controls each part of the stack.

Spoiler: I was mostly right. But with one important caveat: some trains are already running.

What struck me at TOKEN2049 was how much the conversation around tokenization has changed. There was a time when crypto natives would spend hours explaining to traditional finance why blockchain was the future.
