In a significant reform to strengthen India's position as a leading global investment destination, the Government of India has announced a series of measures to deepen the Government Securities (G-Sec) market and facilitate greater Foreign Portfolio Investment (FPI) participation.

Key highlights:

✅ Individual Persons Resident Outside India (PROIs) can now invest in listed Indian equities through the Portfolio Investment Scheme, with investment limits enhanced.

✅ Foreign investor access to Government Securities has been expanded through a broader Fully Accessible Route (FAR), including longer-tenor securities and Sovereign Green Bonds.

✅ Several investment restrictions on FPIs in Government Securities have been removed, simplifying market access and improving liquidity.

✅ Interest income and capital gains earned by FPIs on Government Securities will be exempt from income tax from 1 April 2026, aligning India with global best practices.

➡️Hintavakausrahasto Intian lentoyhtiöille lentopolttoaineen hinnoittelua varten. Kertaluonteinen, enintään 100 miljardin rupian budjettituki öljy-yhtiöille vakaan lentotoiminnan turvaamiseksi, mikä vahvistaa yhdentymistä globaaleihin markkinoihin ja tukee 🇮🇳 talouskasvua.

➡️Tukiohjelma kansalliselle pääkaupunkiseudun suunnittelulautakunnalle (NCRPB) vanhojen kuorma-autojen ja linja-autojen korvaamiseksi Delhin ja sen lähialueiden (Delhi-NCR) alueella puhtaan liikkuvuuden ja elämänlaadun edistämiseksi.

➡️Uuden rannikkovaltatien rakentaminen Odishan Rameshwarista Paradeepiin. Matka-aika lyhenee 2,5 tunnilla varmistaen turvalliset, nopeat ja katkeamattomat yhteydet matkustaja- ja rahtiliikenteelle.

➡️NH 63:n Armoor–Jagtial–Mancherial-osuuden ja NH 563:n Jagtial–Karimnagar-osuuden leventäminen nelikaistaisiksi. Hanke sujuvoittaa matkustamista Telanganan osavaltion Nizamabadin, Jagtialin, Mancherialin ja Karimnagarin piirikunnissa.

➡️NH-347B Hiwarkhedi–Roshni–Ashapur–Rudhy-osuuden parantaminen ja Deshgaon–Julwaniya-osuuden leventäminen. Tämä tarjoaa saumattomat yhteydet Madhya Pradeshin tärkeisiin taloudellisiin, sosiaalisiin ja logistisiin solmukohtiin.

➡️NH-31 ja NH-231 Khagaria–Purnea-osuuden (143,529 km) parantaminen nelikaistaiseksi Biharissa, mikä vauhdittaa alueen kehitystä ja taloudellista vaurautta.

Under the leadership of PM @narendramodi, Union Cabinet today approved:

➡️ Price Stabilisation Fund for Scheduled Indian Airlines toward ATF pricing. A one-time budgetary support not exceeding ₹10,000 Cr for OMCs to ensure stable airline operations, strengthening integration with global markets and supporting 🇮🇳’s economic growth.

➡️ Scheme for support to NCRPB for replacement of old trucks and buses in Delhi-NCR area promoting clean mobility and ease of living.

➡️ Construction of a new coastal highway from Rameshwar to Paradeep in Odisha. Will reduce travel time by 2.5 hours ensuring safe, fast, and uninterrupted connectivity for both passenger and freight traffic.

➡️ Widening of the existing Armoor-Jagtial-Mancherial Section of NH 63 and Jagtial-Karimnagar Section of NH 563 to 4-lane standard. The project will improve travel efficiency across the Districts of Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial and Karimnagar in Telangana. 

➡️ Upgradation of Hiwarkhedi -Roshni-Ashapur-Rudhy Section of NH-347B and widening of Deshgaon-Julwaniya Section of NH-347B. Will provide seamless connectivity to key economic, social, and logistics nodes across Madhya Pradesh.

➡️ Upgradation of the Khagaria-Purnea Section of NH-31 and NH-231 to the 4-Lane Standard (143. 529 kms) in Bihar, driving forward the region’s development and economic prosperity.

Cleaner Green Transport For Delhi!

Delhi-NCR is set for a cleaner mobility transition with the approval of a ₹ 9,585-crore scheme to replace older, polluting vehicles with cleaner BS-VI and electric vehicles. The initiative will help reduce vehicular emissions and promote sustainable transport across the NCR region.

We welcome the operationalisation by Germany of the annoucement waiving requirement of transit visa for Indian nationals transiting through Germany, exclusively by air, with effect from June 03, 2026.

The announcement was made after discussions between Prime Minister @narendramodi and Chancellor Merz @bundeskanzler during the latter's visit to India in January 2026.

This new arrangement would further enhance people-to-people ties between India and Germany.
