Mr. A. S. Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Secretary, MoP&NG, GOI, formally inaugurated the Talk Series for Leadership on “Emerging Trends and Strategic Issues” and delivered the Special Address at the inaugural session.

In his address, Dr. Mittal commended FIPI for launching this timely leadership initiative and emphasized its relevance amid the prevailing geopolitical challenges, global economic volatility and the growing uncertainty shaping the energy landscape. He noted that these developments have significant implications for energy security across nations, making it imperative for industry leaders to remain agile, informed, and strategically prepared.

Dr. Mittal highlighted the resilience and foresight demonstrated by India’s oil and gas industry leadership in navigating an increasingly complex global environment. He lauded the sector for ensuring uninterrupted energy supplies and supporting the nation’s energy needs despite unprecedented external challenges. He also underscored the Government’s proactive and forward-looking measures, which have played a crucial role in strengthening India’s energy security and mitigating the impact of global disruptions.

Expressing confidence in the value of the talk series, Dr. Mittal remarked that the Talk Series would serve as an important platform for knowledge-sharing, exchange of best practices and strategic dialogue among industry leaders. He expressed hope that the insights gained will further enable the industry leaders to contribute effectively towards the growth of the energy sector and the nation-building process.

Held the 12th Brainstorming Session in Duliajan, Assam with senior officials of MoPNG and leaders of our energy PSUs to discuss measures aimed at strengthening India's energy sector under the visionary leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.

Deliberated on the E&P strategy for Assam and Nagaland and the implementation roadmap under the recently signed tripartite MoU. Once operational, these activities will unlock the hydrocarbon potential, boost economic activity across the North East and generate significant direct and indirect employment opportunities for local youth.

We also reviewed the legislative, regulatory and institutional reforms required to create a future-ready, competitive and integrated natural gas market by 2030, alongside measures to enhance the efficiency of our refineries and related energy infrastructure.

Discussions further focused on accelerating India's green energy transition, including pathways for adoption of next-generation biofuels to strengthen energy security while advancing sustainability.
